He’s a big upgrade on de Gea in terms of how he will make us play but I am a little concerned about his traditional abilities as a keeper. I hope we don’t regret going for Costa.

-----------------------------------------

I think Onana is comfortably better than De Gea at most things you'd expect from an elite goalkeeper playing today and that's not even including his quality in possession.

Overall he's just more proactive and aggressive in everything he does including claiming crosses, coming off his line and statistically he was better at shot stopping than De Gea was last season, not that De Gea's shot stopping last season was particularly good.

Onana probably will make mistakes but he'll more than make up for it with his other abilities.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He doesn’t look as good as a shot stopper from what I’ve seen, but otherwise…
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Flaps at high balls as well.

The only thing I've seen he does better than DDG, is his kicking.

Even the sweeper keeper stuff, he gets caught out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No evidence. Move on snitch.

Apart from all the footage of him doing it πŸ˜†

Bingo.

And just like that RDD has just broken his own rule as the evidence of Greenwood is visible (pics of battery and blood and audio) is there for all to see / hear.

Good work. Now we can all move on

Seems way overpriced for a goalkeeper. If that was Man Utd selling him we would probably get rid for £2M or a free after running the contract down.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not done yet mate. Looks like we could.move on to other options if they reject our 'final verbal proposal'

Whether or not Onana is the right replacement doesn't change the fact we had a keeper who was totally not fit for purpose last season. Ten Hag obviously thought so too.

This ^

Now to get rid of Maguire

100% this. ETH knew De Gea wasn't up to it and certainly couldn't adapt to his style of football. He was hindering the team's play/style. Time to move forwards.

It isn't. Its audible, and is Incomplete and without context, and wasn't evidence of anything other than talking to a partner disrespectfully.

Cancel culture is an odd one

Take Megan Rapinoe the chieftain of virtue signaling

Someone dug up an anti-Asian tweet she posted years back, was swept under the rug

Others, well they get burnt at the stake for far less.

Apparently being a female/minority/non-binary/lgbtqia+ allows you to denigrate others and escape punishment

He retired from international duty last year because he fell out with the coach

posted on 13/7/23

In Cameroon's opening 2022 World Cup game against Switzerland, Onana had more touches of the ball outside of the box (26) than any goalkeeper in a World Cup match since records began in 1966. He was described as resembling a "holding midfielder at times" in UEFA's Technical Observers' report on the 2022–23 Champions League.

He could come out of retirement tbf, though Matip retired from representing Cameroon early as well so maybe they have serious problems with their set up
