Match abandoned with no play.

Shame as I was looking forward to seeing a few of these guys in action.

Loads of CC games impacted as well. Almost as if playing cricket in late September in this country is a bit of a risk.

We finish our bowls season in early September....seems logical

Good start by England....

Crawley and Salt have gone.

Strange to have Crawley at 3 but he's failed regardless. Quite a few debutants today but still a strong limited overs side. Hopefully we will get a good look at Hain and Smith this afternoon.

50 for Jacks, Duckett on 42*.

Jacks goes for 94. England 205-4 in the 32nd over.

Doh

Poor Jacks, think he was getting itchy having been starved of the strike for a while and was keen to get on with it. Fair play going for the big hit though, it would have been easy to nudge his way to 100 then go again but that's not the way anymore.

Nice that Smith can get a bit of time out in the middle too along with Hain. Carse and Ahmed can come in and hit later so these guys don't need to tee off yet.

Or not. Smith gone.

50 for Hain. Well done.

England 253-5 in the 41st over.

Didn't realise Carse was 28, thought he was like 24 . Injury mess like every other quick we've got.

11 needed for a debut hundred off the final over. Go on Hain!

Cursed him. Good knock though from a quality player finally getting some recognition with an international call up.

Get this joker off the pitch before we lose this in the PP

To be fair to him, given that he bowled 19 balls in his first 1.5 overs and went for 35. He's brought it back pretty well with 6 runs scored off the next 2.1 overs plus a wicket. Good character that.

Yeah that's fair enough. The first 2 overs especially made it look ridiculous

Another comfortable win for England.

Given that it was very much a B squad with very little ODI experience, it was a pretty good outing with some very good performances. Given the schedules these guys play nowadays, it's very likely that we will see these kinds of squads more regularly. India have been doing it for a while and I think other international sides will follow suit.

That's the rise of franchise cricket, it probably means guys who are not in the top 30 or 40 cricketers in their country will play international cricket.
