Can we make the beautiful city of York look like China for money grabbing Ronnie....
Hope losing that final yesterday isn't going to affect Judd too much..
I am glad that the top 16 are automatically seeded to the last 32. I wasn't really a huge fan of the format we had for this between 2013-2021.
& with every match being best of 11 until the final, the cream usually rise, I remember best to 17's & a 31 frame 2 day final...
I remember a lot of the best of 31 frame finals - some classics included Griffiths v Higgy, the great Higgy comeback against Davis, and Hendry over Davis, all final frame deciders.
Would love the final to go back to that format.
Yes I would like to at least see best of 17s all the way through until the final or even having a best of 17 semi final wouldn't be too bad.
Ding won 6-4 yesterday so is through to the final qualifying round.
I remember 1991 & 1992 the 2 Jimmy White v John Parrott finals, Parrott added the UK to his world title in 1991, & Jimmy got revenge in 1992, I was so chuffed he won that title, he should have added that to the world title of 1992, but that's another story.... 🙄
Recently watched the 1990 final when Hendry beat Davis 16-15, that was the match that officially started that dominance of the 1990's, Davis should have won that, all the match is on YouTube, over 6 hours worth 👏
On YouTube the deciding frame between Ronnie and Selby in the 2007 semi final game up as a suggestion. Ronnie made a maximum in the decider and that match would ultimately be the start of the rivalry between both players.
Yes Arsenal, seen that many times, Alan Chamberlain refereeing too

I lost all interest in the UK Championship with the format from 2013. Didn’t realise last year it’s changed to a better format. Glad it’s the same this year too. Back to enjoying this tournament!

Still waiting for Ronnie to drop out due to mental health.... 😴
Many fond memories of this tournament for me, from a classic Davis, White final of 1987, to Mountjoy toppling Hendry in 88, ( both on YouTube), Jimmy winning in 92, 30 years ago next month a 17 year old Ronnie showing us all what he was & became... Classic Ronnie, Judd final of 2014, & many more besides, great venue too, & York is a beautiful city... Role on tomorrow... 👏
A question being asked on Facebook, a prime Ronnie v prime Alex Higgins in a world final.... For me a non contest 18-8, Ronnie.. Higgins lucky to get 8....
