Shankland played what almost 20 games or so as a number 10 last year?

Kris Boyd was a penalty box striker, Walter Smith tried to get him to improve his work outside the box, improve his linkup play, but Boyd always had that goalscoring ability, he was an excellent finisher
Shankland has that, he scores goals...the fact Naismith and Hearts are trying to get him to do other things over and above that, doesn't take away the fact that the guy knows where the goal is, and given a chance in and around the box, he will score
Silva seems to be the opposite....he has good technical ability, he will link up the play, bring others into the game and drop deep to get on the ball
...that's all well and good, but first and foremost given the amount of chances Dessers has missed, given the old firm results and lack of goals from our attacking players in those fixtures, and given the few chances we will get against too teams in Europe....we don't need a well rounded forward that can do all the good work in and around the box but is hit and miss when it comes to taking chances....we need a finisher

At the stage where you just have to laugh, as they clearly don't give a fook. It also looks increasingly like BR doesn't actually give a fook any more either ... only explanation for the complete lack of any attempt to make the "quality signings" he previously said was after. Even more damning after our utter car crash of last summer's transfer window.

He is being linked with both rangers and celtic which normally means its an agent putting it out to anyone and everyone.
All of our signings had no hint of previous guess work beforehand, only time the name has come up is after stuff has been agreed it seems. Normally thats a pretty good sign as it means we are the ones identyfying who we go for rather than agent offers.
