RIP Lads

posted on 6/2/24

I can't believe another year has gone.
When I wrote about them I felt like crying, so young, and good lads.
RIP to all who didn't come home.

This is why I love this club! There is a story behind how we got to where we are todayl; a head spinning tale of triumphs and tragedy.

RIP to those young lads.

We will indeed never DIE!

RIP from across the Penines, who knows how good you would have been and indeed England had it not happened.

Social media fans mainly .... and a couple on here I have read.

Basically celebrate goals like that and smile when you have won something.

I'm sure most of you saw this when Bobby died but it genuinely brought a tear to my eye:

Brilliant. Never saw that. Well done the Grauniad.

Always been obvious to me when listening to Bobby talk and looking through into his eyes that he was always seemed a troubled and sad man. Lucky to have met him a few times. He was/is Manchester United.

Things like the tragic events in Munich should lead us even more to taking as much joy as possible out of the game.

Scoring and winning is the best feeling so it's only right to celebrate. Without that joy then football isn't much at all.

It doesn't matter what age you are if you've had a crappy week and your team wins it does make you feel better. Yes, it's annoying when you see the opposition celebrate but football always gives you your own days back.

The Busby Babes were all about the joyous nature of football and that's something we should always embrace.

For those with access, there's a very well written, meticulous and heartbreaking account of the crash here:

Great shame Dinc isn’t about anymore as he would recycle that superb poem today. If I have time later I will see if I can find it.
