I hope Ange is making sure the players know losing is unacceptable. Kanes words still stick with me about how it doesn’t matter if you lose at spurs. It does fa cking matter.

Hoddle is absolutely right......

“It was something I felt if only they could put a little bit more defence in there, a bit of work deeper, then I think they’ll solve the problem because they have got pace at the back.

Over the last few weeks, we have seen clear evidence that opposition managers are adapting to Postecoglou’s system and have discovered some clear weaknesses.

Exactly what I'm saying in previous posts....

Unfortunately, this poster is correct.....the problem is our manager, AusieGlue. He's a one trick pony and other managers have him figured out.
High line and attack,attack, attack.
So what do you do against that?

You park the bus, let Spurs boot the ball around from left to left to back to right to back to .....
and when you get the ball you simply boot it down field and run like hell and boot it past Vicario.
Alternatively, you get a corner and pass it in to your unmarked header.

Not hard to figure that out against an opponent who doesn't understand the word...."defend".

Glennda can do one. We are yet to be winning 3nil at half time and end up losing 5-3. That's a team that was easy to play against.

Our biggest problem is converting chances
….
Spurs are statistically the most clinical side in the league this season. Man Utd are 18th best.

Yeah, I’m not sure where GG is getting that from. We’re outperforming xG which is a worry. It means if we average out, we’ll be doing worse. The problem quite clearly is being far too easy to cut through on the transition. It’s a tactical issue and the only way we can rectify it, if you assume that Ange will never shore things up at the back with an extra man, is to control the midfield. We’re not dominating games in the middle of the park anymore so opposition players have time to get their heads up and play balls over the top with ease. Bissouma being a shadow of his former self is part of it. Maddison too but it’s a group effort. Control games and Ange’s system works. If not, it’s completely unworkable. Average possession stats have gone down too. During our first 12 games we were looking at roughly 65-70% plus. It’s now dropped significantly so that explains where the issue is coming from.

Of course!
Read what Hoddle says.
Just park the bus...and when you get the ball, boot it downfield and.....
run like hell to beat Vicario to the ball, and ..bang it into goal!
easy.....
our manager has no defence against that!!

I didn't see much of the Wolves match but heard it on the radio.

For me the biggest thing is that we not moving the ball as quickly or as accurately as we were earlier in the season. This is being made harder by the opposition, we are seeing a lot of small fouls to stop us playing and alowing teams to get back into position. When in position they are really packing the central areas and almost giving us the wide areas and those inside runs from the full backs and Maddison/Deki are now just going into very congested areas.

I feel as if we sometimes needs to draw teams onto us a bit more. When we camp on the edge of their box, its very hard to pick a way through and we are left very open at the back.

We also need to maintain the intensity in teh high press. That seems to have dropped off a bit. Added to all of this some big players are a little pick off form, either looking a bit jaded or not quite back at the races after injury
