the reaction to Saturday was very strange. it felt like people were even more frustrated than when we went 5 without a win, yet this loss ended a run of 5 games unbeaten.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What is the correct reaction to losing a game at home?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Walk down Tottenham High road have a couple of pints in The Bluecoats then get the train to Chiswick and get on the Peroni until 2am.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is the Peroni a new make of London based train?

Where have the clean sheets gone?
---
It's definitely a fair point. My take is that we've struggled for a long time now to put out a consistent first XI. Probably for longer than we had it. Specifically to that point the defence and number 6 role.

Applying a bit more nuance, I'm looking at the forwards not taking good chances to put us ahead/another goal clear. This builds frustration but also gives the other side a fresh impetus to attack. Remember every time we took Kane off before we looked vulnerable? It's like that but all the time when your front line need a bunch of decent chances to get one goal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Its useful to remember that our good form was 10 games, then we lost a bunch of players for ages and only just got them all back 14/15 games later.

I think it will take a bit of time for us to settle back in.

But, in addition, teams have had 20 games to have a look at us and look to exploit out weaknesses. They are far more capable of doing that than say a mid table SPL were vs dominant Celtic.

I think it is a genuine issue that Ange needs to address and the challenge he faces now is probably the biggest he ever has.

But i also think its quite basic errors occuring from our players that are contributing.

If you take Wolves winner, an error on the edge of their area from Bissouma, leads to a goal when they had 3 vs 5 attack.

I think we accept that such attacks will happen, that's the flipside of our approach, but when 3 players go to the ball carrier and Bissouma busts his gut to get back but never actually looks around to see where the runner is, it is as Ange said, poor discipline. That goal is easily stopped if Sarr or VDV plus Bissouma took a look around & positioned themselves to see off the few dangers.

So for me its a combination of the 3 - Team not quite back up to its sharp best, other teams having strong plans against us, players making small but significant errors that are costing us. (penalty vs BHA, set pieces vs Everton, sloppy pass & back pass by Udogie for 2 goals vs Brentford - all largely avoidable rather than tactical)

These fans that call you “entitled” because you dare to want the club that you love and have loved for 40 years to do better. How dare I.
Idiots. If you’re happy with mediocrity and no trophies from a club of this size then so be it, some of us want more

Who's saying they're happy about us winning nothing?

You can't try and be a gatekeeper for who's a good fan when you're jumping on a manager after barely half a season it's undeniably silly

I'm not happy about it either but I don't feel the need to bang on about it like a spoilt kid.

And then you assume to think to know what I want and try to stand on some moral highground with you oliver twist begging bowl saying 'some of us want more'. Pathetic.

I’m not jumping on him. If you read my post I’m behind him, just think it needs tweaking and I’m sure he would agree on some level

I guess we were never going to be the polished article after only one season with Ange. Some of us, including myself expected too much of him this season and to be fair, there have been debut seasons from managers that have resulted in success.

I still think we should be achieving CL football this season. By next season we'll be able to judge Ange better and be able to judge how he does juggling with Europe.

It’s incredibly hard to win a trophy in this country, a lot harder than it used to be imo.

What Spurs need is another four windows like the last few, and also make some of their own. I doubt you’ll lose any of your best players this summer either.

Spurs look in good shape to me and will spend big again I’d have thought. I suspect you’ll see the groundwork laid this season start to pay dividends next.

Yes, we play "nice to watch" football...that's true, but....
it is also true that the other managers in the Premiership have figured out how to play Aussieglue because he's a one trick pony. They all know now exactly what they're going to face.

A high line with no defence. none. nada!

What do they do now? Park the bus, like Wolves did, playing 6 or 7 in the back line...and wait for an opportunity to boot the ball downfield and run like hell after it. If they get there before Vicario (there's nobody else downfield or even close, not even VDV) then its boot the ball into goal.

Oh yes, and Aussieglue hasn't exactly figured out how to defend corners either!

So, if you like watching more Wolves matches, you're welcome....I don't!
I like attacking football, but I like a little sensible defence too...AND I do NOT like watching us lose to teams we should be beating easily.

Aussieglue has got to get a little defence into his head, or this season is not going to be a happy one for Spurs fans,...even those who think he's a "work in progress"!

disappointment, frustration, but an understanding that things like this are going to happen with a young team playing their first season in a completely new style.

not total toys out the pram, sky is falling meltdowns with people questioning the manager

The problem with comparing our ‘process’ with that of klopp or pep or even Arteta is this: all those clubs spent massive on the players required for that process. Yes klopp finished sixth in his first season. They then bought van dyke and Allison for record sums. Yes Arteta came 8th, they’ve just done £100 million on one player.

Spurs will not do that. They didn’t for poch, mourinho or conte.

It’s not ALL about spending money, but you have to balance big spending and good bargain recruitment. That’s the only way to win titles, history proves that. Spurs have the money, as all the financial records show, they simply do not have the ambition.

I do not believe we will ever win anything under Enic. Whoever the manager and the process is. I hope I’m wrong.

Liverpool didn’t, and don’t, spend anymore than Spurs do now. It’s an utter fallacy. You’ve spent plenty, always have but where as Liverpool bought players like Mane and Salah, Spurs have been buying Ndombele and Richarlison. That’s got absolutely nothing to do with ambition and everything to do with the size of the respective clubs and until you get your head around the fact you are Tottenham Hotspur I suspect you’re always going to be disappointed.

Saying Spurs lack ambition is absolutely mental from the outside. Your biggest issue is that the top players will choose the elite clubs rather than the second tier ones.

This club is a laughing stock thanks to our businessmen owners.

Just the other week we had Gammon Face Ferguson ridiculing us on live TV, he was being interviewed on ITV Racing and was asked (by the Spurs supporting interviewer) if Spurs would ever win the PL, and his response was "no chance".

This is now the perception of our once great club, which 23 years of ENIC`s misery has created. Nobody takes us seriously, they know the club has a loser`s mentality which is instilled from the very top.

Most Spurs fans are sick of watching the same movie over and over, we are always the bridesmaid and likely always will be under ENIC, they just do not have enough determination to make us trophy winners.

Levy out.
