Honest opinion on the ref decisions that Michael Stewart is whinging his face off about

Penalty....for me it is a bit soft, but there is a tangle of legs, enough for ref to give it and not enough for it to be overturned

First red card....guys walking a tightrope as he is already on a yellow, he's trying to block off Matondo's run when the ball is nowhere near either of them, accidentally catches him in the face with his outstretched arm....he avoided a yellow for the pen, picked one up for a silly foul early second half, got his second for another silly foul......soft yes, but again, guys on a yellow already, needs to be smarter than that

Second red card.....rash, but in all honesty, I think that's a yellow at most. There's no real bad contact as far as I can see, the malice is there yes so can understand why ref decided to upgrade it...but if that's one of our guys, I'm no happy if he is sent off for that. Timing of it was daft though, straight after Obita was sent off he lunges in like that, so again, needs to be smarter

Semi final draw the morra after the Morton vs Hearts game

If Rangers could just tell us in advance how many penalties they’d like, how many players they’d like sent off, and what they want the score to be, that would save us all some time.

Christ, what youse like. The world handed to you on a platter and you’re moaning because not everyone is singing and dancing about it.

Talk about entitled.

Most concerning thing about today is we looked very tired and are rapidly running out of players 😳

Don’t think Hibs got away with much today.

Job done yesterday.

Hibs were obviously fired up for it and we were knackered and running out of players. Would have bit your hand off for 2-0 before the match.

Pen was deffo a pen IMO. The lad had two grabs at Sterling then bumped into him a couple of times from behind which lead to the tangle of legs as he went down. Boy should have been booked at that point.

First red a stonewaller. Lucky not to have already been off then acted disgracefully repeatedly pushing a young injured player off the pitch when he was clearly struggling.

His second yellow he isnt even looking at the ball when he first impedes matondos run, then blocks him with his arm as Matondo goes the other side. Clear attempt to impede the player with no regard for where the ball is.

Second red im not so sure. Dangerous? Out of control? It was certainly a committed tackle and he doesnt fully catch Lundstrum.

I wouldnt have been too surprised to see that as a yellow but in this day and age it ticks many of the boxes of a red.

All in all job done for the walking wounded and we limp on to thursday night.

The international break cant come soon enough.

And btw - did anyone hear Radio Scotland saturday? It seems even Michael Stewarts colleagues think Michael Stewart is a pwick. Allan Preston arguing with him on air saying Stewart thinks hes always right and doesnt let anyone else get a word in edgeways

Then they invite Bobby Madden on to the podcast to give his views with 30 years of refereeing experience on the weeks events and Stewart just starts talking over him and wont shut up. I turned off at that point.

How anyone employs that clown is a mystery.

Michael Stewart is a phanny, he is an ALDI version of Chris Sutton and thinks Sutton is just negative towards Rangers with no thought put behind it and tries to do the same. He is fecking rotten, even when he is on for Scotland games he is rotten.

Never seen the Celtic game, was told you were $hite which is par for course.

We look leggy, but still had enough in the tank to deal with Hibs, we need players back ASAP.

both , the first I see for myself when I watch the game, the second I hear on here on the daily.

Yeah, we were pretty poor overall again yesterday. Thought we started off fine offensively, and the exact opposite defensively. Kuhn had a decent game-created some good chances with his crosses and passing-he was probably helped by the fact that the Livingston left back was poor when he couldn’t use his strength against Kuhn. Maeda did well to get his hat trick, but he’s still not a winger. He was good closing players down as well. Idah was an empty jersey.

Iwata got better as the game went on, but some of his passing early on was of the hospital ball variety. Bernardo started decent enough and then just disappeared. O’Riley looks like he needs a break. Really poor for the second goal we lost.

Thought AJ was at fault in part for the first goal, but that’s on Welsh having seen a replay. He’s just not got it. I’ll credit him for playing on with an injury for most of the game. He pushed us forward a fair bit in the second half, but his stats for results and goals conceded when he plays must be pretty poor. Scales looks like a guy who’s never had to play a full season at a higher level and it’s showing quite bad now. Taylor at least always looks for the ball and is involved. Played a couple of good passes for Maeda to run onto to let him then shank it out of play or hit a Livi player with his final ball.

Didn’t think we would lose yesterday strangely-think that was more about how poor Livingston are though. Martindale has ran his course with them.

Only seen a couple of the rangers incidents on Twitter-the straight red is a mental challenge. Not sure it’s a red, but if you’re going to jump into a tackle like that then you’re always going to leave it open to interpretation. The second yellow for the other boy to get sent off is a bit meh as well, but you’re always running a risk when you do that.

The teams left so far must be desperate to get Celtic in the semi final right now though.

Ah don’t listen to them. They don’t know what they’re talking about. Celtic are brilliant and put on another dazzling display yesterday.

Obita was begging for that second yellow, should have been given his marching orders for pushing an injured player of the pitch multiple times.

The straight red im convinced the hibs player is trying to do Lundstrum there, he doesnt make proper contact but he no control over that tackle absolute $hitebag of a tackle.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Can’t believe Stewart or anyone saying that’s not a red. A clear red these days, two feet off the ground when he flew in and wasn’t on control. A good challenge twenty years ago maybe, but when all pundits including Lennon say it’s a red then you know there’s no real argument.

Pen is a clear pen.

The second yellow, possibly soft but got no intent for ball.

The boy Obitas treatment of McCausland was particularly poor and the ref should have taken action at that point.

He was clearly toiling and a sub certainly wouldnt want to be subbed unless he was genuinely injured. Yet that tool Obita seemed to think he was time wasting and repeatedly tried to push him off the park.

Hibs were clearly wound up for the game. Their season depended on it and clearly saw a very tired and injury ridden Rangers team as potential for a hampden semi.

When it wasnt working out for them one or two of them clearly lost the plot.

posted on 11/3/24

anyone who thinks that 2nd red isnt a straight red doesnt know the game IMO.

Id Say Obita's 2nd yellow (the one he actually got) is more contentious than the straight red.
