To be fair when we signed Ait-Nouri he had been playing in a more advanced forward role most of his career that far, I seem to recall that he was signed with a view to him playing wing back but that his attributes were more as an attacking player.

He played left back for Angers.

not a good sign for the manager criticising the owners strategy, usually a sign the manager is looking for an exit
Hope I am wrong
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I do think that's a concern and could turn into him looking elsewhere if this summer we ended up looking more to sell not buy. Every manager wants to be given the opportunity to improve his team. At the end of the day its usually him that gets the bullet if things get worse.
Hopefully his comments are just covering his back because there's plenty of criticism online about recent performances that take no account of the situation he finds himself in. Take 4 of the first team squad's attacking options out of any club and they wont look as good.
Hopefully things will get better now. Firstly through players recovering from injury, and then in the summer having some cash to strengthen the squad. If GON left the building for the same reasons as Lopetegui then it wouldn't look promising for the future of the club

All this bitching and moaning about these poor players earning 1,000's of quid a week to entertain the public. They are professional footballers playing on very good pitches.
Remember the old Division 1. 42 games in a season. Squads no bigger than the ones we have and playing on pitches that sometimes looked like a field of mud. Not earning anywhere near what they're paid today.
They turned out week after week, earning less than 100 quid a week, so please, let's not get bogged down with too much sympathy for the present day footballer.

Random!! Don't get your point? What has that to do with us losing four forwards and loaning out two more leaving us with no options?
Regarding Ait-Nouri. He is good in an attacking sense. The point I was making was that he is a defender first and his finishing highlights that.
But he's not a defender in this side. Stop making excuses for him. He should have put both of those chances away.
Not talking about losing anyone. My point was to all those moaning about these players having to play games, for the amount of wages they get.
Incredible that scoring 3 times in the last 4 games isn’t good enough and that we need to focus on what he’s missed not what he’s scored. Steve Bull missed chance after chance for Wolves but who cares, it’s how many he scored that matters.
Ait Nouri’s defending isn’t his main strength. Only question mark after recent games is whether his future lies as a wing back or playing even further forward

Figured you would miss the point.
Ait-Nouri not being a goalscorer through his career just like all defenders and even wing backs explains why when in a position like yesterday he isn't clinical.
We more than anyone should know what that is all about given we have had a host of players that are not clinical in front of goal despite being strikers.
Ait-Nouri is only an eight game conundrum now anyway, very likely he is gone in the summer as one of our star players.
Have to wonder why we moved out Sasa and Silva before bringing anyone in. Neither was the long term answer of course and Sasa has obviously got injured since but either would have been more useful than untried kids.
Wolves have linked up with Japanese J1 club Shonan Bellmare. The link will focus on providing mutual academy development opportunities across the two countries

Probably to save on wages to help with the FFP this year and give room to bring someone else in on loan. Unfortunately, the fees being asked for were too high for the loan.
When the conversation descends into comparing the financial rewards, the physical demands, the lifestyle sacrifices etc of the modern game with football in the fifties, you know you’re wasting time.
