The biggest issue Sancho had at Utd was obviously ETH and after that it all went downhill. He wouldn't be the first player who suddenly has a turnaround in form and performs differently for a new manager, but I'll guess we'll have to wait and see what happens.

Just a word on Dortmund - did they have it that easy in the CL? I mean they came out top in a group of PSG, Milan and Newcastle, which to me was one of the tougher groups, and beat Atl Madrid in the last round. I know they're not doing well in the league, but I don't think they have had a particularly easy draw in the CL.

Wouldn’t he have to play as a wingback under Tuchel?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not sure but one of the better success stories at Bayern under Tuchel was an upturn in form for Sane and maybe he could do the same for Sancho.

Sanecho perhaps.

And I mean to say that I’m not sure Sane was playing as a wingback.

82 said it was easy so that’s that.

When questioned, resorts to angry man waffle.

How they have had an “easy run”only he knows.

I was joking, but not sure United or Sancho need Tuchel. Will be interesting to see how Sancho does in the return leg, was very good tonight and showed his strengths but it’ll be different in Paris.

He has no future at United, we just need him to get his stock up so we have any chance of selling him.

Tuchel plays with a back four usually. Chelsea’s the only club he used a back five because it suited Chelsea’s squad.

posted 2 weeks, 3 days ago

Yes I said it was fairly easy because that’s my opinion. Beating PSV and Atletico to reach the semis isn’t that hard imo. They’ve been lucky to avoid clubs of the quality of Real, City, Arsenal, Bayern, Barca and Inter.

posted 2 weeks, 3 days ago

I think United need Tuchel if we want to try and get back towards the top quickly, without having to do as much work on the squad as is needed. However, if we’re looking to take a different route with recruitment, and really try and gut the squad, I’m not sure he’d be the man for us - nor do I think he’d want the job.

Didn’t PSG beat Barca who they have just beat. You do talk utter nonsense.

Let’s see how Sancho does under a new manager. Perhaps he and Ten Hag just didn’t get on. If someone like Tuchel comes in he may really like a refreshed and galvanised Sancho and see him as important to his plan.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tuchel would kill him.

He won’t come back to United, especially if we’re actually going to try and root out the awful attitudes at the club - he’ll be the first out of the door.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah I agree, can’t see him coming back and tbh I don’t want him to. Even if he succeeds elsewhere I wouldn’t want to take the chance of him replicating his time with us again, it has such a negative effect.

I mean ETH did send him to Holland for help for a long time and being late for training etc even if ETH is a prck that’s no excuse

Could Tuchel do anything with our squad to get us near the top though? He might be able to bring a bit of structure and solidity in defence but that isn’t enough to compete with City or Arsenal right now and doesn’t he fall out with players a lot, he’d be a nightmare with our squad. Wouldn’t he just be a Jose v2?

posted 2 weeks, 3 days ago

Yes they knocked out Barca when they went down to 10 men. Also, Dortmund haven’t knocked out PSG yet, there’s still another game. I said Dortmund have had it fairly easy to reach the semi, I didn’t mention anything about this round being easy for them did I?

Yep agree with that. The club also need to show that they won’t be facked about by players, need to remove the toxic player power environment that people like Sancho have become part of.

I'm with with Tuchel coming. Don't think Mason Mount will be over the moon though. 😂

Yup yup.

What we all need to remember is that this will take a long time. IF Ineos do want to do what they’re saying they want to (and seem to by their professional hiring) then we have to think of this as the first season post SAF effectively; a full rebuild which is 5 years minimum imo.

No more knee-jerk & short-term thinking. A consistent plan over a proper period of time. Then we can look at managers fairly.

With some good signings I think he’d be the best option for us to make big short term improvements. He’d improve us back to front. Wouldn’t be enough to compete with City and Arsenal, but if we want to get back towards the top quickly I think he’d be the best option.

But this is obviously dependent on the strategy of the new ownership. If they’re wanting to take a different approach, which would require a slower transition to rebuilding the team, then obviously he wouldn’t be the best and I don’t think he’d even take the job because he’s a coach that wants to win the CL, not take a couple of years to qualify for it.

It could be that no-one can afford Sancho, or at least what we would want for him. So we might have to take a big loss financially on him, or a new manager might want to give him a chance

Take the loss, fk it. We cannot keep the wrong players and we need to wipe the slate clean and start over. Even if it means 4-5 more years of 5th-7th.

Though another thing to consider is the pressure from shareholders to deliver on short term objectives. Ineos may be tasked with running the footballing operations, but they aren’t the major shareholders.

All this talk of Tuchel and Southgate..........we all know it's a stop-gap until Carrick / McKenna are ready

posted 2 weeks, 3 days ago

Sancho will stay at Dortmund on loan. He holds all the power as he can simply refuse to move anywhere we are able to sell him. Dortmund will know that too.

How long left on his contract? Two years after this season?
