I think either way Firpo leaves us at the end of the season for a Spanish club if rumours are to be believed so we might recoup 4 or 5 million quid if we're lucky.
Not hindsight but I genuinely feared the worst when I first heard we'd signed a defender with "Junior" in his name remembering what a disaster Roque Junior was after we signed him but tbf to Firpo this season he's on the whole been acceptable more times than not, last Saturday aside and because of that has attracted interest from Spain at least for his services.

As for Firpo I would honestly try and model him into a left centre back. He is good in the air and his build and turning circle are more like a centre back than a full back. He will never be a top left back and he couldn’t be played as a left winger - he is naturally better at attacking from deep. Players have moved positions before with success.

He sure as hell can’t defend and he’s our only decent crosser of the ball so I’d personally be happy to see him move up.

Yes. And given that they were aware of the chance of Struijk being out for the season and his freezing out of Creswell the pool of available centre backs was small. It was a good partnership at the back between him and Roden but it ended up hampering us in the crucial midfield area when it came down to the run in.

I'm a bit perplexed about Cresswell's perceived attitude problem?
Played for Millwall 28 times scored for 4 goals , Represented England U21s winning a Gold Medal. - This doesn't suggest he's not a team player or not good enough - maybe just got frustrated at DF for not getting game time especially after the blocked loan.

The thought of Firpo as a CB is frankly terrifying. He is caught ball watching so often, loses his man all the time, gives away silly fouls, all things which are fatal in a CB.

As I recall you were adamant that the bust up that happened was entirely because Cresswell had an attitude problem and that's why he had no future at the club. You wanted him out of the club in January because you regarded him to be a disruptive influence.
I think you also suggested he hardly made any appearances at all at Millwall.
