I prefer the lottery as opposed to other competitions where you can predict the winner before the season has even started.
All the leagues are boring processions now. Only the CL has a chance to surprise.

Boring precessions? Completely disagree. Ipswich got automatically promoted ahead of Southampton and Leeds. Leverkusen won the Bundesliga out of nowhere, Italy has had multiple winners over the last 5 years, Girona gave Spain a scare, Arsenal and Liverpool have run City close. Only PSG have been the precession this season.

All those are just processions. Even if Liverpool or Arsenal win it, it's still a procession when the same two or three teams win the league every year.
You oughta be ashamed of yourself saying the Bundesliga and La Liga aren't processions. Bayern have won the last 12 in a row, it's almost as bad as the SPL. Barca and Madrid just exchange La Liga between them.
You can't bring the 2nd tiers into this as promotion and relegation changes the strongest team in those leagues.

And the premiereagye is a procession as City win every year and now going for 4 in a row. Only Liverpool have ruined their clean sweep otherwise would have been 6 years in a row.
Absolute processions.

Well i think all of Europe is going to want to see Dortmund win the CL over either Real or Bayern.
posted 1 week, 5 days ago
Anyone but Real Madrid.
Real wins have become so tedious. The biggest name in football with the most pulling power wins again.
Exactly what the sport needs.
Dortmund overcoming Real in the final is exactly what the sport needs in the last format which can even pretend not to have completely sold its soul.

Girona were top in January and had beaten the elite sides. They certainly gave La Liga a decent go, can't call a tiny side like that a precession.

I'd rather Bayern beat Real then lost to Dortmund.

I don't think you know what a procession is. Being top I. January means fack all really. And you can't judge with one year, you need a longer period of time to consider. All these leagues are processions.

To an extent, but it also requires a completely different mindset to a 38-game regular season.
Most people consider City to be the best team around based on the notion that the PL's the world's strongest league and they keep on winning it time after time, but there's definitely something wrong when they've come up short so often when the stakes are raised.
Since Guardiola's been there, not only have they gone out to Madrid 3 times out of 4. They've also been overcome by Monaco, Liverpool, Spurs, Lyon and Chelsea. That's way too broad an assortment of notional underdogs for City to point to bad luck for their failure to win the CL more than just once.
Cup competitions are simply a different beast. They're so much more unforgiving. Mental fortitude counts for much more when error margins are so small, and City just haven't had enough of it.
If you think a team's lucky when their opponents miss chance after chance, you're looking at it the wrong way. In the end each tie is decided by the balance of both teams' performances, and you can't go blaming bad luck if you fail to capitalise and then concede goals in situations you shouldn't.
