We have done fack all in the past 10 years and remain the most valuable club. Just goes to show you that winning things actually isn't important. Football clubs are a business at the end of the day and other clubs seem to be focusing on the wrong thing. Whatever we do, we get the most attention in the media. Crap and finish 8th? We still get the most attention. There is nothing any other club can do to compete with us. Spurs win the CL? There would be a couple of articles on it in the media in the days after, then back to United for the rest of the year. We have evolved so much that we no longer need to be successful to be the best. We are just a level above all the try hards down below us. Would you work if you were a billionaire? Exactly. We no longer need to do your peasant on field football effort nonsense.

Try telling yourself that when the next generation of fans' lack of interest in United sees revenue plummet. It won't stay like this forever if you're not in the picture at the top end of the league. You're big now because you dominated for the first 20 years of the Prem. Kids now will be supporting City, Liverpool, Madrid etc. it's when they grow up you'll see a change because they'll be the earners not willing to waste their time and money on a club barely in the picture.
