Thoughts from tonight

James has really improved last 12 months.

Underrated, always been fast, but technically massively improved and goal output been massive. Love the bloke.

I think we all forget how young willy is, absolute baller. Could easily be the best player in this league.

Gruev I thought played well tonight, but I aint a big fan.

Bogle, first 20 looked like prime firpo 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Commentator said we haven’t won outside of historical Yorkshire since February at Plymouth. Comfortable win tonight, much needed after a tough week for us fans.

Thought we were really good tonight. Played out of their press really well, credit to Farke for selection and set up.

Like Gnonto drifting centrally. Influences the game much more. Our Movement was great tonight, and our pressing much better than it has been… joseph put some miles on the clock.

Much to like about us tonight.

DJ's finish showed how much he has learned. Absolute class goal. Big week on the transfer front. Feeling good tonight.

Really hope Gnonto stays. Can't wait to see him
and Ramazani torment the league. Mateo up front.
Get a few more decent players in and who knows.

We talk a lot about what we need, but we showed how good we can be with what we have. More players took on more responsibility tonight. I would have liked to see more of Piroe, but apart from that, I am very happy with that performance. Much more like the team that went 13 unbeaten last season

Solomon looks in the bag.

Good signing on paper.

Hopefully its coming together

I'm watching the game again right now.
Bogle is exactly that, Firpo. My Sheff U
family side said as much: great going
forward. Bit of a liability defending.

I watched him in the Prom for them
just so I could give them sh t. It was
true back then. And is now. However,
he really is a threat going forward.

Him and Firpo could be real assets
this season. For me, three at the back
with wing backs fits both of them
better. But, tonight we were superior
regardless.

First 20 we looked useless. Got the goal and the confidence was flowing after that. Shades of last season tonight. Off the mark for the season

I think we can take some of our JA606 friends off suicide watch now.

No.
The only mess evidenced was from those experiencing what might be classed as neurotic premature ejaculation!

Much better performance and very very welcome win. Suddenly 5 points from 3 games is a decent start on the face of it considering two of those games were away from home.

More positivity to be gained from one exciting signing made this week, and another due (hopefully) over the weekend.

But I think people have every right to ask why so much business has been left so late in the window.

Maybe late because the players we actually want are not yet available?

Did we want Rowe, Clarke? Or is it all speculation? Agents drumming up business? Clubs wanting an auction?

We all know from past seasons that many players move on the final day. Let’s just wait and see what happens.

How often does this happen in all sorts of careers. Take away the superstar headline makers and it gives so many others the chance to grasp and shine. Hopefully we will have a full unit of weekly 7 or 8 out of 10 performers this season all delivering together.

We beat a dreadful Sheff Wed side who gave up at 1 nil. We'll get much tougher tests than that. Feet firmly in the floor

Wish Byram would get some playtime as he's better than Firpo or Bogle...

One off game and you cannot base how the season will go on it. Sheffield Wednesday were poor, at times, and
especially at the end of the first half, we were as good as we were prior to Plymouth last season and it was a joy to watch.
Wednesday tipped to have a much better season than last season and they have a good young coach, yes there will be tougher tests but also we will play some far worse teams as well. Last night fills me full of optimism.
But as Salonika points out, the window isn't closed yet and just as we have time to get better, we also have time to lose players, Gnonto may yet go and teams around us also may still improve.

The one person Jonty doesn't mention and I don't have a downer on him was Meslier, he had little to do but I was really concerned about him flapping at balls he could easily have caught.

Got his positioning completely wrong for 2nd goal, and did the strangest of dives.

Think Struijk is underated by a lot on here. His passing out from the back is superb.
