Liverpool this season so far

This looks suspiciously like an article set up to open Liverpool fans up to accusations of getting carried away far too early.

So who else are you op?

I expected a good start but it's been better than I expected. The season is long and challenges will come so let's see how far we can go.

It's Slot's first season so I'll be happy with top 4, perhaps a cup so long as we play great, entertaining football. Having said that, if we keep playing like this and putting teams to the sword then title talk will start soon.

definitely havent been flawless lol. but its been impressive so far how we have navigated the opening games. Esp considering it wasnt an ideal start for Slot missing most his team pre season etc, not enough time to evaluate squad and identify transfer targets. Lot of positive signs and reasons to be excited esp if this is just a fraction of what Slot can get out of a team.

Ange Pog had a good start, even ten hag did didnt he? so long ways to go and far too early.

Yep, especially considering when this new sock account was set up it's comment on Liverpool's squad was just a tad different.

Too bad it's a fully fit mediocre squad.

No dm. Unproven cb. Unproven mf. Weak lb. Russian roulette fwds.

Avg bench.

Klopp was the best player in lfc for years.

So far yes, but our only real test turned out to not be a test.
See where we are after another 10 games

Another GB then?

Slot inherited a very good squad/team. This is still very early and we don't know if this is a new manager bounce or not. Won 2 games we should be winning and gave United what they have been asking for.

We’ve had kind fixtures but did the job well. I don’t see the Utd game as any sort of marker result/performance tbh, they were pretty poor for most of the game and even then they missed a couple of excellent opportunities.

If we’re still playing well and winning come the end of October then the run of 3 games in a week against Chelsea (h), RBL (a) and Arsenal (a) should tell us where the team is at. Lot of points to play for before then though.

i wouldn't say kind fixtures, utd away regardless of form is one of if hardest fixtures we have. Away to prob the best of the promoted teams first game is tricky and brentfords record vs the top teams is still impressive under frank no? outsidde of us theyre prob one of the few teams to take points off city regularly?

dno how that is kind tbh.

Admittedly Utd was a kind fixture more because of their form but opening up against a newly promoted side and then home to a lower mid-table team (Brentford finished 16th) last year? Caveat that every team in the league presents problems but yeah, I’d say that’s a kind start.

Our next 3 fixtures are Forest (h), Bournemouth (h) and Wolves (a).

Again, as a set of 6 fixtures, I’d say that’s kind. Still got to do the job and beat them, all I’m saying is there’ll be tougher challenges ahead.

New manager bounce usually applies to teams who are doing $hit I would say.

Had a wobble in April but did alright in May.

posted on 8/9/24

Would'nt go that far with this set of fixtures.

Playing ok. Doing the job

Some.look pretty tired already so they have a lot of work to do.

Jota looked below his best against utd

Robertson looked shot v Ipswich bit is building his fitness.

In the end these are games any side wanting to be in tjr top 6 should be winning.

Even utd away when you've got a slide playing that bad

New manager or not, I expected it's to win the first 6 games when the fixtures came out. We are 3 down 3 to go. Slot is doing nothing that he shouldn't be doing so far. The fixtures have been kind to any new manger and will afford him the time to continue putting his stamp on the squad before the tough games come.

Yes, he could be finding it tough, new club, new country etc. but he's taken to it well so far. It's helped that Klopp left him with such a great squad.

Had we not had so many injuries at the same time and the April wobble due to it, we'd have been alot closer than we were.

Let's see how he gets on with the City, Arsenal and Chelsea games to see what he's made of and how far we could go this season. Personally I think he'll do well based on how he talks and seems to analyse the opponents perfectly.

As much as I'd have loved to put a few more past Utd, you could tell at 70 ish mins, he told them to just play out the game. This is great game and player management, which will hopefully keep the players fitter as the season goes on.

jasus thats some faith, like honesttly any team can take points off anyone in this league. expecting 18 from 18 is ridiculous imo esp when u throw in a new manager.
