I would love to see Mainoo play in more advanced role for next 3 league games

Doesn't look likely he'll be fit going by how he went off yesterday.

Honestly, I actually forgot about that Just hope it's not serious
The Bruno red card looked like we might have an opportunity to see how a Fernandes-less midfield could operate, and with it a formation with two 8s rather than a 10. Naturally, Mainoo and Mount went off injured soon after.
I think Mount is ok, no news on Mainoo yet. It might end up being Ugarte, Eriksen and Mount
From what I saw of him last season and at the euros, mainoo doesn't really seem like the type of player that gets his foot on the ball and help slow games down with his passing. His big strength is getting forward by carrying the ball over large distances and popping up with the odd goal.
United are lacking that passer profile in midfield. Ugarte looks like a fish out of water
Rodri would look lost in our midfield tbf
Hasn't had a good game yet really this season but he's playing in a dysfunctional team with zero confidence under a lame duck manager so it can't be helping him.
He's the least of our worries.

Mainoo is not a Busquets/Carrick midfielder, that's for sure. But last season he was the one most likely to initiate a spell of simple possession, and would sometimes be seen making the 'let's calm this down' hand gesture to the likes of Casemiro. His USP as a player is his press resistance rather than metronomic passing, but we saw a lot of his comfort in tight spaces followed by recycling the ball simply, followed by showing for it again last season - and that made ball retention theoretically a lot more possible than it would had been in partnerships involving Casemiro/McTominay/Amrabat.
Honestly it feels like being such a mess of a team is what gave Mainoo an opportunity to shine, but sometimes coming into a team like this can actually do damage to the mentality of a player.
We saw it a lot with our banter era.

Banter era?
Aren't you still in it?
Kobbie Mainoo is 19 year old boy who will have his up and downs. He is playing in your first team for a long time now. He is the least player I would worry about.
Probably worth a go, not sure he’s got what it takes creativity and passing wise, but only one way to find out.

Until you win something you sort of are. You're the complete opposite of us. You're a well coached functional machine that wins nothing. We are a total mess of a club and team with a manager that's managed to win more than Arteta in half the amount of time.
Banter era probably the wrong choice of words. Bottling era perhaps more apt for you until you win one of the big ones.

Lost his way a little since the Euros, but as GT points out Mainoo is still a young lad, he'll have his ups and downs so lack of consistency is expected. He is also playing for a club that's going through a rubbish period so standards are currently at an at time low.

Yeah we still have a lot of questions to answer in terms of winning stuff, but I don't think any team in the world would be grateful to draw us in a cup whereas under Wenger at the end we wouldn't have put fear in anyone apart from teams like Norwich

GT spot on again
We’d be better off playing Amad there. It’s a problem position given Bruno’s form and the lack of end product from the alternatives.

They are always trying to worry about him.
The current situation with Man Utd, Ten Hag and Mainoo reminds me of where Arsenal were with Emery and Guendouzi.
I’ll leave guys to fill in the gaps.

Videos circulating on social media today would suggest he's done his hamstring. Few weeks at least.
