He is in the debate, the period towards the end of his Sours stint was mental. It just seemed that everything he tried that year came off.

Might have been the best individual season I have seen in the EPL in my lifetime.

Insane talent, if the best prem 11 was done on ability alone he surely makes it. Scored in big games too, proper athlete. Shame he didnt care so much in the end and half arrsed. As a player he sheits all over someone like Giggs imo, they play a 1v1 and Bale smashes him to bits it wouldnt even be close would it? Or if you cloned each for an 11v11 theres only one winner.

Giggs might have been the better team player, more professional etc... Never a better footballer or athlete than Bale though not even close.

I was so desperate for Utd to sign Bale when he went to Madrid.

As good as Bale was, he didn't have the same dribbling ability that Giggs had. He relied more on his pace and power. Nothing wrong with that, but Giggs was the more skillful player for me.
