Hopefully ever see him again

Sizz, as a big Poch fan.
Do you think our defensive line under Poch was as high as it is currently, higher or lower?

I don’t know!
Do you have an issue with Ange's defensive line?
I would say peak Poch's defence played more aggressively fyi

I don’t really have an issue with anything except poor results!
I just think if something in a game isn’t working you should be able to change or at least tweak it.
We let in four against Newcastle, and now three against Arsenal, it’s not good enough!
I didnt watch the newcastle game so cant comment.
But our issue against arsenal is set pieces, which Ange deserves all the criticism he gets. Its pathetic.

Going with Poch, as I think these two are there to be compared, it was one of my biggest issues with Poch too.
Defensively we were average at set pieces, but we never ever scored from corners. Had Poch reallocated that role to another resource and we got an additional 5-8 goals from set pieces I genuinely think we could have won something. It is largely why Chelsea beat us to the title.
My biggest gripe with Poch was his in game management. Bloody never made a sub or reacted to the flow of the game if it turned against us, exacerbated by the fact he apparently never wanted a bigger squad.
Cahill 6 goals, Alonso 6 goals, Moses 5 goals, Azpi/Luiz/Terry a goal each.
We had Dier with 2, Rose with 2 and Toby with 1.

That is so wrong, it's a fair criticism of early Poch - but in his last full season he changed the game with his subs a ridiculous amount of times. It was his biggest strength that season.
I mean ok if that's your recollection but we were crap that season. The flukey run in the CL saved him from a lot more criticism than he was due
Okay maybe crap is harsh. But we weren't playing the amazing football that had earned his reputation nor getting the results. Prolly he'd point to no signings. I'd point to him rejecting Tielemans in favour of waiting for Ndombele

Flukey
Alright not flukey (I think it was a bit, Lucas doing that is not on the manager let's be fair) but still hid poor performances in the league
We were lucky Ajax was managed by Ten Haag, Onana's short arms unable to reach Moura's slow last minute shot and over rated De Ligt at CB.
We only just scraped out of the group as well tbf
Every game was a scrape. Sterling's last min goal wiped out by VAR lol
I remember reading around the stat in the final stretch of the 17/18 season that Poch lead the league in substitutions that directly lead to a goal or assist.

Some fantastic subs that tie too which allowed us to beat the best side in the world at the time (and IMO the best Man City side Pep had)
Lol Poch's in game management is and was crap
The debate was never about right now, so stop shifting goalposts.

I said that was my biggest gripe. That he was poor at that. You're pointing to a small period of time to say that actually he was good at that.
Now is relevant because he's still the same manager, and if we're talking about bringing him back like sizzle it's useful to bring to the conversation. Certainly more useful than stats from 6 years ago
