I think that he will mature into a great CM, its a bonus that he can play on the right aswell

I honestly think it's good to put him on the right for now. When he matures etc put him in the middle.
Worked with Stevie...
I think similarly to Sid, and that he is a direct replacement for Steve Gerrard . . . . .who I have thought about since young Jordan's transfer, as being knackered
I think he's had a few injuries lately, and he's heading the same way as Micheal Owen . . . . no, I don't mean to United
Anyway, I always thought that Jordan was better on the right wing for Sunderland A.F.C. - he was forced to play in the centre last season 'cos of injuries . . . . he needed a rest, and became lethargic, so a lot of fans' opinions of him changed
I hope he regains his spark for Liverpool, and successfully succeeds Gerrard for club and country
CAM is where he should play in all honesty.
Unless we play similar to Rafa's tactics where the wide-forwards tuck in and provide space for the over-lapping fullback. Then he should be fine on the right.
However if we play 4-4-2...then the bench is his best position
He's a right sided midfielder.
If he can make a move to the centre, that's fine too. He covered there well because of injuries at Sunderland and who knows, maybe he can move from his natural position on the right over time.
It's nice to see that Jordan's not being 'slated' like he was initially . . . . I presume he's settling in, now
Maybe I have been watching a different Jordan Henderson but there's no way he's a right midfielder/winger.
If that is the case then
In my book he's an attacking central midfielder
Until the side really clicks I see him as a bit of a luxury player.
his passing is almost all one touch and accurate. In a fully functioning, settled side that will be like gold. But right now we're still a little disjointed with players trying to figure out what each other are going to do and sometimes that leaves him a little out of the match.
Longer term I have very high hopes for him. On the right, his natural position
He can definately play CM, where he looked comfortable for S.A.F.C. but he was more effective as a right winger in the early days
I wouldn't be surprised if he progressed into a very good attacking central midfielder
Im sorry redconn (U5676) but i cant see him becoming a right midfielder. CAM seems like the best position for me. I know he started off on the right but he is too one dimensional in that position.
He can hardly beat his fullback for pace nor trickery
" He can hardly beat his fullback for pace nor trickery "
You could say that about a certain Mr. Beckham but he was pretty effective

The game has evolved since then. Teams prefer pacy fullbacks and it has become one of the most important positions with regards to defence and attack. Beckham wouldnt make it in today's game even in his prime. And he wasnt even that good of a RM...his crossing, set-pieces and passing was outstanding but that was about it.

You can add to that an impeccable first touch, great awareness of team mates, decent shot, good engine (at his best he covered as much ground as Kuyt) and reasonable in the air. In fact the only thing he genuinely lacked was pace!
Wouldn't make it in today's game?! Lucas, usually I read your comments with interest but that's just not even close to being fair comment.
Just my opinion of him.
Dont let the popularity of Beckham cloud your judgement. He was a good player but not all he was made out to be.
Henderson potentially will probably be better than him at right-mid.

We obviously come at this from different perspectives, I tend to think his actual playing ability was under-rated because of the whole brand Beckham, 'Golden-balls' rubbish.
Not many players have been successful in the EPL, the Spanish League (where he won Capello over and was an established member of Madrid team) and the Italian league (albeit on loan but very late in his career).
I'm not saying he will go down as one of the world's best, that would be ludicrous, but I do think his actual talent is slightly dismissed due to his over-whelming celebrity.
I hope you're right about Hendo, but I detect a bit of biase regarding Becks
I don't think he was as good as he was made out to be, either - I'd much rather be facing him as a left back, than SWP or another 'tricky' right winger - but he was far better than you suggest
When you say " his crossing, set-pieces and passing were outstanding " ( statement corrected ) I think that most people would think those assets to be quite sufficient to make someone a 'half decent' player

He reminds me of Beckham a lot. I hope he turns out to be as good as him on the right but sadly I see him as a better player in the middle.
Beckham was a great player. Nowadays people don't like players that can't go past a player, with pace or even skill but not all players are like that. Sometimes a pinpoint cross or pass is much more effective that running fast, past a defender. For what Beckham lacked in pace, he made up for in chasing the ball down, much like Kuyt does.
I honestly don't think that Jordon will settle at Liverpool, and that he has made a real big mistake in going there...
I always preferred him at right midfield at Sunderland, but as I said, I can't see him lasting more than a couple of years with you.
