It is now all about being behind until the last day of the season and taking 3rd place then.
Seriously though we were slow and monotonous tonight, we had 71% possession, 24 shots, of which 18 were on target but we hardly worked the 'keeper. We had 13 corners and I reckon at least 8/9 didn't clear the first man. This could only happen to us.
It is becoming laughable how bad we are at set-pieces, the lads on here have been saying this for months and months, surely the guys high up in the club have noticed this aswell. If so why has nothing been done about it!
We were massively left short by some outgoings in January...
- Peinaar, a last second move which left us no time to respond. We have one unused backup winger (Gio) and Harry hopefully now will see pace on both wings is needed.
- Townsend, same as above.
- Pav, he split opinion, I personally always liked him, he got us goals and in football that is hard to replace.
Krancjar, Modric and Livermore are not Right Midfielders! They work very well in central areas but offer little width and leave us with an empty flank. Now I knoe Gio hasn't performed well in the past for us, but when Lennon isn't there he deserves a chance.
The biggest thing he have got out of these last few poor fixtures is just how important Lennon is to the team , the better shape and all round balance of the team when he plays is so much better. Can't wait to have him back hopefully back for Chelsea on Saturday. Genius of Nielsen's article below sums this up well.
What does Defoe have to do to start a league game, Saha has been living off one good game since he joined and at times his touch looked worse that Crouch's, even Ade's. I think it no coincidence that when we finished 4th Defoe was out main striker.
Finally Harry doesn't look up for it, wrong tactical decisions at the wrong times. Slow to react to the changes that need to done e.g. Defoe coming on in the 80th min vs UTD. He can tell the press all the excuses that he likes but we have simply not played with a quick enough tempo and he is to blame for this. We don't seem to have a plan B apart from hoof it long, we aren't Stoke (sorry Stoke) we don't have the players to hold the ball up.
The list is endless
I wasn't expecting to write an article this long but I got carried away with the emotion of our situation. But on the bright side we are still 4th and can hopefully pull through. I have every faith that the team can turn this around and we can again laugh, at least we are not Liverpool.
The last week has shown us somethings are a LOT bigger and more important than football and I apologize for the rant, but I needed to let it all out. Come here fellow Tottenham fans
I heard the GAP is overrated...

Agree...I feel your pain and frustration...set pieces is so obvious that it's starting to annoy me. Someone better say they are practicing them soon or i'll just start writing articles about it on twitter to VDV until he tells them to do it.

It just seems that everything on and off the field is going against us of late and for the gooners it is the opposite.
