Does anyone think we should try out this formation for the rest of the season considering its unlikely we'll make the playoffs.
Possible line up
Kasper
St ledger. Morgan. Mills/ bamba
Marshall. Wellens/drinkwater Danns. Dyer
King(when fit)
Nugent. Beckford
Positives from this
-We have 3 good centre backs(also could be argued that pelts is not that good of a defender) and increases threat from corners
-Wellens has complained about only two cm now there will be three
-can play king in his attacking midfield role where he's most useful
I welcome any criticism but it's worth a shot
3-5-2 anyone?

3-5-2 seems to have gone out of fashion. Even MON doesn't seem to play it anymore. I agree with you Fonz that with our current personel it is worth a go.

I agree with you, now is the time to trial and error, if it means we are ready and know what were doing for next season then I'm all for it.
That also looks a strong line up.

I wouldn't leave Konchesky out as he has been just about our most consistent player this season, and the only one of this year's defence who has come close to being solid on a regular basis.
The 3-5-2 you provide Fonz does look strong, but a more traditional one would be;
Kasper
St Ledger
Mills
Morgan
Peltier
Danns
Wellens/Bamba
Drinkwater
Konchesky
Nugent
Beckford
Pelts and Konch attack when we're attacking, defend when we're defending.
Only issue with it would be that there would be no place for Marshall, and I think we need to see more of him.
5-3-2/3-5-2 is defo worth a go, particularly away from home, and especially now the season is dead in the water.

What happens if NP trial and errors a couple of different formations and nothing comes of it?
The fans moan and want his head so I really dont think it is worth a go

We are never going to go up without taking risks Thai. I'm sure fans would understand that NP is trying to get us promoted. I think most fans are already moaning and few fans already want Nigel out. I personally believe he is the right man for the job

I would rather see NP trying out different formations and not getting results, rather than sticking with the same tried and failed 4-4-2 and not getting results, at least changes in formation (such as last night's 4-5-1) show he's not ran out of orders.
Also, if I'm not mistaken, didn't we play 5-3-2 at Palace and win there?
