Alex Thomson, Chief Reporter, C4

Can't wait to see his expose into Rangers and their dodgy relationship with the mainstream Scottish media.

One imagines it will be squeaky bum time for a lot of the hacks who pass themselves off as journalists.

Succulent lamb anyone?

And I trust no-one's implying a conspiracy or anything like that either.
...............

You trust correctly.

Succulent lamb buys a lot of 'good will'.

"Succulent lamb". A much-used phrase. Some folk are very fond of quoting the Daily Record.

Ironically when Celtic were later schmoozing the media - as they're entitled to do, of course - one of the dishes they served up was (yes) "succulent lamb".

Hacks often cosy up to clubs (especially big clubs) to get stories. Quite often they don't want to upset the clubs as their easy source of stories gets cut off. Clubs, like other organisations, are entitled to try to manage the media. Jock Stein was said to be very good at it....

But that was about football

Mr.Stein was good at many things.

Press management is part and parcel of every business, which is why they have special departments solely devoted to handling their stories, the whole thing about the medias part in the Rangers fiasco is that despite the now obvious need for hard questions to be asked, they ever were. That's just totally unprofessional, 'succulent lamb' will forever more be a metaphor for a hack being in a businessmans pocket.

That must mean Speirs, the Rangers fan, is paranoid too.
..........
No, he's the only one who admits to being a Rangers fan! . His honesty makes reading his articles worthwhile, they're not all 'paranoid'.....
