Well it's my first article back on 606 and it's bad news for the Dons in their push for championship football.

It seems our midfield rock has decided to move on. It's such a shame, I felt he had finally found some form after a poor season under Ince.
I wish him well though, as long as he's not Peterborough's solution to a failed bid for Gleeson.
So where do MK go from here, presuming we keep hold of Gleeson? Is Potter the answer? Will George Baldock be given 20 starts? Or are we in the market for someone else?

Good to see your 1st article on here Hazsa.
As much as I could hear from the back of Red Dot Bar last night I think Robbo sees Williams as the key to our midfield. I was also given the impression is that the budget isn't there for another central midfielder.
I believe Robbo said the priorities are for another goalie, a right full back and a left winger as well as a player who can provide that something extra. I guess that two will be on loans while Robbo is prepared to wait to see who becomes available, although we are trialing goalies now.
I was also given the impression a Balanta deal is not completely written off, although unlikely.

Owl in peace
Can't see Potter as a midfield rock tbh. He can pass it well but tends to be sideways all the time. He is also not a great tackler, although how effective he is may depend who plays alongside him

"is potter the answer?" take it from a Wednesday fan only if the question is "which player would you like to help with assisted suicide".
In my 20 years + as a season ticket holder at Hillsborough there have been few players I have had as much disdain for. He's unable to tackle, physically control centre midfield, sprint or pick a pass at the right time with the right weight on the ball. Going by history with Liverpool, Wolves and ourselves he'll probably look the part for the first half dozen games before you start to question his commitment to the cause. That said previous managers/assistants believe he's playing at a level below where he should be (and technically they should know seeing as they work with him daily).
From a personal perspective I'd much rather have Leven and would be pleased if he joined us, whereas Potter's track record is that of a player slowly making his way down the leagues and i'd expect him to be ploughing his trade in League 2 by this time next year.
Good luck with the new season, but not at our expense please!

Oh no it doesn't look good on the Potter front then. And I would be gutted to see Leven go to a League One rival, but it's not unlikely.
Furz I completely forgot about Williams. It will be interesting to see what he can do. He's not played for a while and the Irish league is surely a level below League One.

I wasnt too pleased with the Potter transfer but I dont like judging players before I see them play for us.
We had Doncaster fans warning us about Lewis Guy and imo he was one of our players of the season before February when he lost his place.
I won't judge Potter but I wasnt really impressed with the signing as I've heard and seen criticism on Wednesdays's 606 about him.
I reckon we actually need a winger to replace Leven, as silly as it sounds.
If we start the Irish midfield of Williams and Gleeson, and say both get injured - Potter and Chadwick (Chaddy I prefer in the middle too), and someone on the wing to replace Chaddy's who's moved inside.
I heard Robinson say yesterday that QPR and Balanta's agent actually want him to be here, they believe this is the best club for his growth and experience (I'd agree too tbh), though Robbo said he (Balanta) actually thinks he's as good as any of the QPR team and can get into the team in the Premiership team and I think it may be a bit early for THAT so maybe he could go out to a Championship club on loan.

Shame about Leven but Robbo will unearth someone else to take his place.Never know he might do a Johnson and resign
