Bolton 2 Blackburn 1

Muamba will be grinning himself to sleep tonight.

A good positive performance from Bolton, They looked to keep it down more than their opponents who played a very direct game, looking for The strength and pace of Yakubu and Hoillet to catch out the solid Bolton defence.

Blackburn biggest asset was their long throw into the box which caused considerable problems for Bwfc' Adam Bogdan.

We took the initiative through two Wheater headers, he would have been dissapointed not to get a hat trick as he came close to getting another header away on two other occasions.

Blackburn pulled one back through N'zonzi but other than that they rarely threatened the bolton goal.

Miyachi, Reo Coker and Ngog were the best players on the park. Reo Coker sat deep and won countless tackles and gave an all round impressive performance sitting deep. Miyachi was a constant thorn in Blackburn's side and frequently gave Mary-Kate or Ashley the opportunity to look foolish by breezing past and delivering a good ball. Ngog performed his lone role admirably again, he and Ryo linked up very well down the left, and Ngog gave alot of energy and helped to bring other players into play as always, unlike his replacement Klasnic who gave possibly the laziest cameo i have ever seen. He spent what seemed like the entire time he was on the pitch, pushing people, having a wonder, didnt commit to anything, didnt pressure. He can score 1 in 3, but we need someone who is going to put a shift in while were playing 4-5-1.

Other than that everyone was pretty solid, Petrov struggled in parts, but didnt commit enough like Klasnic, having those two on the pitch at the same time is a near fire way to invite pressure onto yourself.

Bolton will be disappointed not the extend the lead, Ngog, Davies and Pratley all had free headers in the second half, which they should have scored.

Equally, Yakubu should have scored a header prior to Wheater opening the lead.

A quick mention for Tim Ream who made the most significant yet least noticeable contribution today when he nicked the ball away from Yakubu 6 yards from goal. He just got enough on the ball to put Yak off and keep it at 0-0.

Overall a pleasing performance....just unfortunate that Liverpool have decided to stop trying to win and instead trying to make the relegation battle as interesting as possible.

Ryo You can't keep him though, you cheeky Boltonites!

Apparently weve already agreed a deal to keep him....weve sent you half a dozen pasties and Gavin McCann is joining you as your agility coach.

Feed the pasties to Ryo, he needs a bit of bulking up.

We'll take McCann though

That has to be up there as one of my most memorable days at the Reebok.
For many reasons.

Ryo is class, hes going to be some player in the future, just hope Arsene doesnt quite need him yet and lends him to us next year.

I also think Ngog deserves alot of praise. I thought he was fantastic today. Ok he doesnt score enough, it could still come yet, but the rest of his game is bang on. Wheater and Ream looks like a blossoming partnership as well.

Happy with the three points needless to say. Can't say the same about our creativity though. N'Gog has nothing to run on to and a thru ball seems not to be in our attacking plans. Otherwise a good old effort put it today. I thought Petrov was our man of the match. Shame about Wigan .....there seems to be somat wrong at the Pool.

I thought Petrov was quality today and Ngog was below par.

I have always supported Ngog but recently feel for as much as he holds up the ball and has good feet he never actually does anything.. Maybe thats just how I saw it.

but again, Mavies was incredible. Never loses possession and gets the ball down all the time. He has been our player of the season by miles in my book.

Good performance. Davies and Ngog should have got their headers on target, either of which would have sealed it for us.

I can't remember us winning so many games by the odd goal as we have this season, i'm not sure if thats a positive or negative thing.

Pity about Liverpool handing out 3 points to our relegation rivals. If they'd have done the business against QPR and Wigan, we'd be 4 points clear of the bottom 3.
