Quite shocking really that due to an IPL contract the West Indies board can't pick him for the test series against Austrailia. This guy has looked so impressive, first in India and now at home against the Aussies. The Aussie batsman have been all at sea.
Who do you blame, can you really blame IPL when he is West Indies player and of course from the West Indies. Should the West Indies play hardball or is there something in his contract that says he has to be there from game one? If that's the case then the ICC need to look at themselves and see why players are being prevented from playing for there countries.

Narine to chose IPL over Tests

I thought it was a rule that selection to play for your country overruled an IPL contract.

Clearly not hope if the West Indies coach has said that he does not believe he will play? Other cricket boards don't allow this happen but you have to also look at the individual.

you cannot take part in other international domestic games without no objection ......? so if the west indies dont give him the permision he cannot play ipl, or any types of county leagues. the fault lies in the board that they have no control on their players, and ofcourse the integrity of players who choose money over country

cricinfo suggest that the fact that he not centrally contracted makes a difference, I can' believe that''s the only reason.

It might have something to do with 700k hitting his bank account for 6-8 weeks works.

The WI cricket board do seem to be pretty incompetent in handling their players, but the IPL has caused them big problems. The players are wealthier than the board members and made them feel powerful. Al la John McInroe.

Can't blame the guy. WI cricketers get paid next to nothing compared to the big teams for playing for their country. Also, WI domestic cricket is completely amateur. Narine doesn't even have a central contract so this is life changing money for him.
