RAFAEL DA SILVA

The lad is absolute quality. For me he was by far our best player yesterday and MoM for me.
He rarely gets beaten by wingers and is absolute quality going forward. The current Rafael-Valencia partnership reminds me of Neville-Beckham.
Rarely the opposition find a way through our right when the two play.
I still don't understand why we prefer to play Jones and Smalling at right back when we have Rafael apart from when he is injured obviously. The only reason I can think of it is because of height factor against more physical teams but hey how tall was Gnev anyways? I think this lad has a very bright future for us and looks to have nailed that right back spot. Hopefully his brother will do the same at the other end.
He also has that nasty streak like Nev will will no doubt distinguish himself from others. The game has become very soft these days and as such players like Rafael are a breath of fresh air. He could have had 2 assists in the last two games if not for our poor finishing by the strikers.
I hope Fergie doesn't tinker with him and continues to play him till the end of the season as he is absolute quality and can become one of the best in the world.

That shameful night in Wembley, IMO our best players or rather, our most effective players were IMO Vidic and Carrick.

Each one to his own though

Vid would have been my other one.

I still think the game could have gone so different if SAF would have changed his tactics at Half Time.

Would we have lost in the same miserable fashion we did if we had Quieroz instead of Phelan?

Don't see how Carrick can have been the bst player when he could, or should, have cost us the game in the end. That was a silly challange. He did have a good game though, MOTM for me was Valencia or Rafael.

Rafael, if only he didn't dive in so often, hpopefully that comes with time, he's still abit raw but already a very good full back.

OP, seriously, a space between paragraphs.

.........................

Neither Quierooz or Phelan are responsible for formation , tactics and personnel.

All down to SAF, I am afraid. He thought that being at Wembley we could get away with 4-4-2.

Quieroz has not really done much as a manager himself.

We are talking about the CL final now.

I realise now, how stupid of me. I couldn't judge that whole game was a blur thinking about it now.

I know Valencia wasn't motm.

Against Barcelona we needed strikers who could retain possession and we needed energy in midfield.

SAF played Hernandez and Giggs. The rest as they say is history.

Mascherano in defence and we couldn't do anything. The great man got that wrong big time

Rafael is a quality player and will only get better with age.

He's been trying to hard recently to re-cement his place back in the side.

If he's fit, I see no reason why Smalling or Jones should play RB.
