What do we currently have?
Jamie Carragher
Martin Skrtel
Daniel Agger
Sotirios Kyrgiakos
Danny Wilson
Martin Kelly
Daniel Ayala
Connor Coady
Injury Problems?
Jamie Carragher - 53 (09/10) and 38 (10/11)
Martin Skrtel - 29 (09/10) and 49 (10/11)
Daniel Agger - 36 (09/10) and 21(10/11)
Current Form?
Clean Sheet Table:
3rd (09/10)
4th (10/11)
So we seem to have alot of cover at CB then our rivals, with promising youngsters such as Kelly, Wilson, Ayala and Coady. Carragher, Skrtel and Agger's injuries in the last two years haven't been as bad as many make out. Our form in the last three years at the back has been Champions League standard even though we have finished 7th and 6th in the last two years. So do we need to spent over £10m on a CB? When we could concentrate on our LB problem and outwide?
Is a CB needed?

You don't need any defenders, when you have Sotirios Kyrgiakos

Quite right too

Whatever happened to Scott Dann? Simon Kjaer might be worth a shout.

If you think Carragher is not good enough, then you aren't watching Liverpool enough mate.

for every centre back pairing, you'd like to think there is a player to cover.
for carra agger - skrtel
should carra be injured
skrtel agger- replacement being sotiris
when agger and carra are injured/not available
skrtel kyrgiakos - replacement being???
This is probably why another centre back is being looked at.
I don't think Ayala is going to be an outstanding centre back.
Kelly is needed to cover RB - i think its an area where we should be looking to improve with Coady Wilson and Kelly all untested in this area.

I think Flanno and Johnson can cover RB. Kelly can play anywhere. He's better than Jones IMO

Johnson is right back - flanagan had a decent end of the season and I really hope he can kick on.

Anyone else actually think Robbo is the real gem in our up and coming young players? - maybe barring Kelly whose versatily probably gives him an edge.

Robbo is a top talent. Almost good enough to play the whole season. I would pair him up with Insua.
