Top 4 - Spain

Inspired by the Sir Eric's article on the United board - who would you say right now will take the top 4 spots in Spain. And the Uefa slots?

1 & 2 are easy enough, but in which order? Madrid still have to visit Barça, plus Osasuna (who already beat Barça at home and are 6th in the table), Atlético Madrid and Athletic Bilbao.

The other 2 aren't anywhere near as clear: 9 games to go and 9 teams within 9 points of each other.

And for the UEFA spots?

Current table:

Valencia have won about 1 Liga game (maybe 2?) since the turn of the year.

Málaga have been strong in recent weeks, but now have 3 or 4 key players out for the rest of the season.

Osasuna & Levante are overachieving.

Espanyol's form is pretty indifferent.

Sevilla and Atlético are still in with a shout but need to make ground up soon.

Getafe under Luis García are looking good - but again, it looks like they've too many points to make up for them to reach CL positions.

Athletic Bilbao have dropped too far behind, , have a short squad and are in the Europa League and in the Copa del Rey final - plus still having to navigate fixtures vs Madrid and Barça. Definite no-no imo.

Admins - couldn't figure out how to put this on the Madrid & Barça boards as they don't seem to be on the team menu. If the Arsenal lads don't want this article here, could you guys switch it from the Arsenal board to the Barça board? Cheers.

Out of interest, is there anyway to do that from the create page? Once I'd clicked on the scroll-down list, the only way I could deselect a team was by clicking on another team in the list.

And while I'm on the subject - couldn't the European footy link be a bit more prominent? There's quite a bit of discussion on European footy, but the links so far down that none of us really use it and virtually all of it stays on the PL pages.

i think malaga and valencia will get 3rd and 4th.
levante and osasuna 5th and 6th in the EL spots..

think the big guns of atletico, athletic and sevilla will miss out...atleti and athletic have cup competitions to worry about

That's how it stands right now, but still 27 points up for grabs. Sevilla & Atleti are only 4 points off the EL pace.

I reckon Atleti will at least make the EL.

Athletic won't. Tough games, too many competitions and as soon as they see they won't make the CL, there's nothing really spurring them on for the EL positions as they'll already get a plce due to playing the cup final vs Barça, who'll be in the CL anyway.
