Barcelona Are A Rugby Side

I'm not even joking. They're closer to a rugby side than even Stoke City.

Everything about their play is about stealing yards going forward. Slowly, but surely, pressing their advantage, waiting for set plays and moving forward again.

I appreciate that it's highly technical, but I'd honestly rather watch a side like Fulham, who can really have a cracker of a game, than a team who is the equivalent of water eroding a stone.

Replace Barca with Spain and i'd agree with you. But for me, the presence of Messi adds another dimension which make Barca a joy to watch. Not only his runs, but his link up play with the likes of Xavi and Iniesta at times is out of this world.

What the fleck are you on ya dobber

Flecking makes me laugh how all EPL teams slate Barca, the best team on the plannet,

And reading your post is nothing short of embarrassing

Trust a Celtic fan to misunderstand.

And Bloodred, I agree with you completely. Watching Spain at the WC, because I backed them to win, was a waste of time. So dull.

I guess watching them v Milan, where Messi has been more or less quiet so far, is why I posted this article.

the way Barca keep the ball & then hunt in packs when they lose it is a joy to watch in my humble opinon.

Different tastes I guess.

For me Arsenal's goal v Barcelona (Arshavin) was the high point of football. Extreme technical ability at such pace it was unreal.

I've been watching that Arshavin goal everyday lately, the whole sweeping move and sweet finish into the corner was sublime and a high point indeed.

The trouble is Barcelona doesn't do that. They just put you to sleep and then score. I don't really enjoy that like I do a great counter attack.

That's why I always bristled when people compared us to Barcelona.
