Three Lambs

SL have delivered a resounding victory crushing all hope of cricket's top team.

My first article on this site was about the England series of 4-0 being irrelevant until the home tigers came to enemy territory but true to their wimpy core , they have buckled once again. Can England fans admit their team is nowhere near the elite ? TMS commies before Dubai cloaked them as the 'Man U of cricket and cricketers themselves started whispering of a 10 year reign on top.Tsk Tsk

SA are now the new no.1.England's five minutes of fame are up...and this sets it up nicely for India to righfully regain their throne by Christmas when they tour. Then we shall rejoice

PS - Personally I have always believed Trott was the difference between the new England and the old one.He is boring as f#*% to watch though.

Dinda will fire India to the top of the rankings

pox what r u on about. i being an indian fan, cant think of india getting back to no.1, how can you? and u say deserving no.1? not if the lose 8-0. The face is india will not get the no.1 by playing srilanka and nz. they will have to pull off some big margin results against england and aus later this year, and to completely gain the no.1 we will have to beat sa in sa next year. so my boy, its high time we take game by game.

to me too many england players have been resting on their laurels.agree with bob willis why did strauss retire from the one day team to me its taken the edge off his game.kp also underperforming.i would now make cook captain, strauss peaked as a captain in the last ashes and now needs to be dropped for someone like carberry.can only see one change for next test bopara for patel who offers nothing as a test batsman and is only a pie chucker as a bowler.only other players in the squad are bowlers and are not as good as the current 4.long term though changes need to be made.

India may well pick up some ranking points at home but with Dravid going and a couple of others close to following his lead and retiring soon I feel it could take quite a while before India are once again fighting to be No.1.......I'd like to think they can do it sooner, but it will take time to settle in the combinations I feel

Have you lost your mind in Carberry mate? Now I know you love your Cricket pal,but he is early 30's and could not hit a barn door last year.Your suggestion to remove Strauss I believe is wrong. The sub continent is hard hard cricket, and I hope your just angry with todays result.Next match I would recall Bresnan for Patel, and bring in Finn for Broad as I dont think the lad is fit.

"SL have delivered a resounding victory crushing all hope of cricket's top team."

Not really. victory, yes, and deserved, but it was a bit closer than you make out.

x.mas....In the real world, chasing down 350 on this track was never really going to happen even weighing up the up's & downs like Bell being very un-fortunate....that 193.?? in the first innings was the first nail in the coffin and then allowing Sri-Lanka tail to get an extra 50+ runs was the final nail...50 runs here and 50 runs there was the difference in the end....it all makes for an exciting game 2.
