Hamilton smells a RAT!

Away from the usually inept and pathetic British press with an axe to grind against him, Hamilton was free to comment on what a shambolic mess his team commited in Malaysia to a foreign press, :
"But with the double shuffle with the Ferraris, I don't know if it was a bad call from my team, but I lost two places.

"Then I had problems with the right rear jack in the next stop and then in the one after that I had a problem with my right front. So it was a little bit unfortunate but my time will come I'm sure."

But Hamilton also suggested that the team needed to improve their raceday pace as well, saying that the relatively poor performances were not just down to bad luck.

"In qualifying we are very quick but we need to be quicker in the race," he lamented, "Our low speed downforce needs to improve.

"If we make some improvements to the car and maybe our pit stops then we can do a little better. We will have some upgrades [soon] I hope."

Contrast this to what Mutton Weasel had to say : Whitmarsh says the key moments that cost his men were Button's mistake in colliding with Narain Karthikeyan, and Hamilton getting held up on his way out of his first pit stop after Ferrari double-stopped Alonso and Massa.

"Lewis was held," he said. "I don't think it was overly conservative, but had he been released there was a reasonable chance that he would have got T-boned by Massa coming in. I think the guy made the right decision.

"I have looked at it again, thinking were we too conservative. It was that holding of him that put Fernando in front, otherwise it might have been a different outcome."

the main difference between Lewis and Jenson is expectation...no one really expect too much from Jenson....so when he crashes out or comes 4th...5 or 6 people just shrug their shoulders and move on...,.,and when he does wins its a big bonus...

Lewis on the other hand have great expectation from others and himself so when he comes in 3rd its a let down for him and everyone,,,,well except WHitmarsh

and that has been his great disadvantage to Lewis....and thats why 2 poles and 2 3rd is being treated like a major underperformance by the press.....while Button crashing out hardly registered in the world of F1

so thats why Button so called called calm demeanor will fool the naive.......

Why use that particular year (2007) to dismiss an opinion that is different from yours?
---------------------------------------

I'll quote tshe...

"pre-2007 was the dark ages of formula 1, the arrival of son of the soil heralded the dawn of a new era, a modern day renaissance! Thanx to Hamilton formula 1 is now in its years of enlightenment!"

He's a new age Formula One fan who only watches cause of Hamilton, its quite obvious by all the rubbish he posts on this site and what he used to post on BBC.

I'm not saying you cant support a driver i just think there's a way to do it and half the time tshe just sounds like a child.

....and i'm quite sure judging my most of the replies he generates i'm not the only one who thinks that.

Personally i've been watching F1 for about 20 years and been a McLaren fans since they had Merc engines in 1995, i have a relative who works for Ilmor.

Fine.

I have been watching F1 since 1961. Not that it has any relevance. That does not mean that I know any more than someone else.

I resent the dismissive approach that people take towards somebody that has a good word to say about Lewis Hamilton. "oh, you only rate lewis because you never watched anything before 2007"

Viewing figures dropped dramatically during the Schumacher era and then improved when Lewis Hamilton came along. Is that not right?

I'm one of Lewis biggest fans trust me, he's great to watch and really exciting, for that reason i'd even say i prefer him to Jenson.

I just get annoyed with one eyed fans who cant look at the bigger picture. Some of the stuff tshe spouts on a daily basis is repetative and complete nonsense... i'll agree with him that Lewis is a fantasic driver but i dont go along with all his silly conspiracies about favoritism by the media, fans and the Mclaren team.

Viewing figures had dropped but i dont think the increase is completely down to Lewis, the coverage has been great, but more importantly the spectacle and the competition has improved. I've been watching the 80's and 90's(and the Schuey years) season reviews on Sky and I nearly forgot how often we saw only a couple of cars finish on the lead lap. That doesnt happen now and thats definietly helped with the popularity of the sport.

He even uses the same title in his threads.

As the motorsports page isn't the busiest board on JA606 everytime i click on it i see another tshee article saying exactly the same thing, tedious beyond belief.

So everyone is waiting around to watch one man drive around a track? No, we want to watch a race. Don't make people turn against your hero. He is an amazing driver. Let's hope he delivers what he is capable of.

Mikeyc that's the thing. Tshe isn't a hamilton fan and does stuff like this for people to turn on hamilton

MUD your right. I shouldn't raise to it but god he's annoying! As long as one of the Brits does well I'm happy. Hell, I spent years supporting Jonny Herbert. Clearly not one of the greats, but maybe the nicest/most human F1 racer!

"Hamilton is very good at blaming, whereas if he just got on with it he'd have a good chance of taking a second title this season."

Sorry but the one who moans most is JB. If he isn't up near the front all we hear on the pit radio is, no grip on the front, no grip on the rear, or something of that ilk.

Albert, correct me if I'm wrong but as far as I know, Ilmor do not supply engines to any formula one teams. They used to but Mercedes Benz High Performance Engines took over that business and built a new factory. Impressive setup too.

Ilmor still have old factory and still work in racing, just not in F1.
