Southampton have just announced that the £33m loan they owed to their owner, doesn't need to be paid back. This will make there books look really good as its now in effect become a gift. So clubs which should be in massive debt get underneath the new football finance rules, which is a complete joke and unfair on everyone else. Brighton, West Ham, Leicester, Southampton have an unfair advantage. Leicester went even further with their owners also renaming the stadium, which Walkers crisps paid for, but used the new naming rights for a multi million pound deal, which in effect gives them as much as Arsenal get from Emirates Airline. Chelsea, QPR, Man City, Newcastle all have had shed loads of cash from their owners, but instead of owing the cash back, it now gets classed as a giftand not a debt. Man City also got multi millions from their owning family for naming rights on top of the 'gift'.
So FIFA and Platini can say what they want, but the rich clubs will find a loophole for their own benefit at the expense of everyone else

If they decided to bring in this financial rule then they should stop clubs that their turnovers are not as big as others by stopping this under hand way with stadium naming rights by the same people that own the clubs because tbh they would get nothing like the deals they have set up from out siders.leicester would not be able to to match leeds utd next season on wages if it was all about turnover rather that bending the rule.

DOC, I read an article the other day about premeir league clubs and its rather frightening that only 4 clubs in the premeir league could reduce tickets prices and still break even.
Manchester city to break even would have to charge ! YES CHARGE! £161 a ticket per game, so when this new ruling comes in that they can only spend what they generate its going to be very interesting.

I have no problem with them renaming the stadium for financial benefit. Wouldn't matter one jot.
I'd still be going to Elland Road, as it's where the ground is situated.

Is it not the same as man city shirt sponsor being a company owned by the owner paying 20mil per season to fudge the numbers, in regards to naming stadium rights, look at Newcastle it's called the sports direct .com stadium, everyone with half a brain cell still calls it ST James park

The teams I do actually feel sorry for are the exeter brentfords carlise of this country who have less and less chance of moving anywhere above league 1 really due to the massive gulf in wealth
