Lost two parents to cancer! It's fcucking pathetic that more isn't done to fund research into the treatment and lowering the costs of the most effective drugs that can save lives.

As a Villa fan it has been an absolutely miserable season and this just takes the biscuit. To have N'Zogbia, Bent, Dunne, Clark, and now Petrov missing at such a crucial stage just makes you think that the club you love is doomed.

I hope all the players, even if they are limited or lacking in experience, will fight in the name of Petrov.

Albion Supporter here as a football supporter we like too support our own team and we do like to take the mick out each other sometimes without any malice towards any supporter or player of other team.
When something like this happens it focuses our minds no matter who we supporter, we supporters feel for the other person as human being who is suddenly struck with a terrible illness. therefore lets all join together and wish Stylian Petrov a Speedy and Full recovery from this illness just like Muamba situation this sad situation for our football family.
May I wish Stylian and his family and all Villa supprters and management all the best for future and hope your team performance is not affected by this and hope you definitly stay up.

I do have to say though with respect to some comments on here, it's important to keep aware that quite obviously this isn't just about football uniting and sharing grief. And football isn't alone in 'going through a rough time of late'.

For every footballer that contracts this or the cardiac issues that Muamba has, there's goodness knows how many unheard of punters that suffer the sane or worse and who do not have the privilege of global exposure and support.

I couldn't believe the story when I just went on the website. Hopes he battles Leukaemia and gets over it.

It is curable, the rate of survival varies depending on the subtype. Please get your facts right before commenting on such a serious matter.
