worth a gamble ?

wages would be massive. if he's gonna be injured for the whole season, it will just be a waste of a lot of money

Would certainly be a great addition if he was going to be fit. Unfortunately his recent history would suggest otherwise.
Although I do recall a player that we got from Newcastle on a free because he was so injury prone, and went on to play about 100 games without missing one. That was Frank Clark.
