We won the CC because we wanted it. The manager and players fought for it. In the league the players had no belief, not interested and had no spirit.
Norwich with all respect but their squad is just average but they have a great fighting spirit. The same can be said to Sunderland and Everton.
People said we needed British players to bring back the old Liverpool and the fighting spirit but look what they have done to us including the manager and coaches. Two rubbish British coaches Hodgson and Dalglish and too many British players made us the laughing stock of the PL.

You won the CC because you scored more penalties than Cardiff. I reckon they wanted it just as much if not more than you.

8bit don't be stupid. I'm not only talking about the final. There were many other games before that. We had to beat Exeter, Brighton, Stoke, Chelsea and Man City all away to reach the final. Beating the last three PL teams away is not easy.

"whoever wants it more will win" is one of the dumbest football cliches

Another idiotic comment by you.
I didn't say who want it more will win. Who wants it more have better chance. Now go to bed you have School. How old are you anyway?

why would any team 'not' want it? and anyway, Dalglish said at once stage the the CC was a distraction to the league, and rested players for games... which would suggest he didn't 'want it' as much as other teams.
As I said, it's one of the dumbest cliches in football. Just my opinion. Nice to know you can't debate like an adult though <tongueoue>

Dalglish wanted the CC and was more or less playing his best team every game.

He rested players for some games, and also said early on in the run that the Carling Cup was a distraction to your main aim of finishing in the top 4

what do you know. off course he rested a couple of players but no too many and not because it was a distraction or not wanted it but because as all mangers do and say you can't play same team twice a week. Some players can play them but not all

Dalglish said himself earlier in the run that the cup was a distraction to the league, not me
