The FORMIDABLE Jonny Evans!

Some months ago some of the posters on 606 launched a witch hunt against Jonny Evans. It seems that they were angered by him saying he was proud to play for N.Ireland. Of course, I fully realise this was an awful thing for Jonny to say. In fact, hes very lucky he isnt Catholic or the witch hunters would have almost certainly pressed for the death penalty on the grounds that he was a traitor!

In the circumstances, it was with great interest that I noticed that a respected football journalist stated in the national press recently that, "Evans is currently the most formidable link in the United defence". Moreover, Sir Alex himself seemed to back up the journalist's opinion by describing Jonny as one of his defensive "cornerstones". The said scribe went on to say that the only time the United defence looks seriously shaky is when Smalling, the player who the witch hunters demanded should replace the "hopeless Jonny, is brought on to replace Evans or Ferdinand. Seems like our Jonny is having the last laugh! I wonder who the witch hunters will pick on next?

I think to be fair to Jonny he never let the doubter's get to him,he has bounced back brilliantly from his early season blip because thats all it was, also having Alex Ferguson publicly come out & back him would've given him a massive boost too, personally myself I think the English press went way over the top with him but it should'nt surprise anyone at the end of the day he's keeping two 'FUTURE' England regular's out of the United 1st team, you only have to look at the way the press are treating Christine Bleakly to see how they react when an 'outsider' is doing well.Back to the football hopefully Jonny can keep his form up for both club & country for many years to come!!!

Totally agree with those comments. If they're not English, they're rubbish, according to the press. I think if Evans keeps his head down and can keep the errors out of his game he could be a regular starter beside either Vidic or Ferdinand for years. As with anything, being told your good at something breeds confidence. It can also only be a good thing for Northern Ireland. All we need now is a decent goal scorer!!!!!

Hi Megan! Was that your glistening, muscled, sun tanned body I spotted prancing round the gym the other day with all those young dolly birds frantically throwing themselves at you in vain attempts to rip off your silken thong?

MEGAN: It does seem to be incredibly quiet compared to the Old Days. Perhaps the brainwashing is wearing thin!

Dreary, dreary me, Shen's back and surprise, surprise he's talking out of his backside.

What there was of course was legitimate criticism of Johnny's lamentable form at the time and the suggestion from Ireland supporters that rather then concentrate all their anger and bitterness towards Evan's best friend and then Manchester United team mate Darron Gibson the NI fans on 606 would be better worrying about the form of your brightest prospect Johnny Evans.

It's a credit to Johnny that he's turned his United career around and is fulfilling his potential and ramming the words of the likes of NI and Man Utd fan 'yerman' from the old 606 boards who constantly suggested he wasn't good enough for the Old Trafford side and would be sold in the summer back down his throat.
