Champions League

So it looks like the Terrors are back in the hunt for an unlikely place in the Champions League (qualifiers ). What an achievement that would be if we could get it although there's a long way to go to be there. 5 points is still a fair old gap and there are no more easy fixtures with Aberdeen away next week and then the split.

I reckon we are still due to play:

Hearts at Tannadice
Celtic at Tannadice
St Johnstone at Tannadice
Rangers at Ibrox
Motherwell at Fir Park

Rangers seem to have picked up a bit since we gave them a couple of pumpings. Motherwell away is obviously the key fixture and that's a tough old tie. Hearts and Sainties at Tannadice should be a home win which leaves Celtic who hopefully will play a few youngsters with a Scottish Cup Final coming up for them.

We have to keep our form going and that's going to be tough. Six wins on the bounce in the SPL is fantastic form but that can't last forever. We just have to hope that we have the momentum and avoid injuries and that we get enough points to close that gap. You have to see Motherwell dropping points and as people always say, it's easier to chase than it is to be the front runner.

On a side note, I saw Man United were up training at Tannadice yesterday. Obviously preparing for the inevitable Champions League trip next season! Hopefully ST was onto them for a preseason friendly to boost the coffers.

Foot will be off the gas anyway mate. Few of our 19s will get a chance apparantly.

Can you speak to Neil and ask him to play his best team against Motherwell and the kids against us?

tbh the only way I see Celtic playing well for the rest of the season is if they play the younger guys and the fringe players

I think you have to go through three qualifiers?

Policy, that's what I thought as well to be honest

I think I'm right in saying that if we get knocked out the first qualifier then that's it.

If we get knocked out of the second qualifier we go into the final qualifier of the Europa League.

If we get knocked out of the third qualifier we go straight into the Europa League group stage.

If we get through the third qualifier I'll pash myself laughing

There ya go, if we overtake Motherwell we take Rangers runner up spot, slotting into QR3, meaning its qualify or drop to Europa I think

Dundee Utd would make a better shot of it than Motherwell

It would be a massive achievement should we make it, but i'll be a happy man with any european action to be honest lets just hope motherwell get the jitters

just need to gain 2 points from now until we play them, the goal difference will sort the rest
