Ecclestone was given a few opportunities under Hodgson and now hardly gets a look in.

He should certainly be knockin on the door of the first team

Lets be honest, he would offer more than Carroll and certainly would offer pace and shots on goal..id put him in if only to show Carroll he tows the line or else!

In Ecclestons case he was put on the bench in the last game then removed the next. Could we blame him fir feeling he was just there to fill up the numbers on the bench and not play a part? The same goes for Sterling.

Can we say that the first team is playing well enough to stop players like Nathan, Raheem and Suso out of the team?

Kenny is under pressure because of the sheer scale of money spent on under performing players. He should dump them all in the ressies and give some of these youngsters ago. But we all know he won't.

Ecclestone seems to have hit a bit of form for the reserves. I can't help but think he is not good enough after seeing him play a good few games for the first team but it seems he has worked hard after coming back from loan and he could well prove me wrong.

Could also say is Cara playing well enough to keep Coates out the team, and most/all would say NO.

I hope Dalglish knows what he is doing with the youngsters, but it looks like he doesn't from my point of view sadly, hope he proves me wrong.
