EPL
Man utd have 76 points fron 31 games. Man city have 71 points from 31 games. Arsenal 3rd and Tottenham 4th both have 58 points. Chelsea newcastle have 53 points 5th and 6th then 7th everton with 43 points.
Gap from 1st to 7th is 33 points in epl vs 36 points in la liga.
La Liga Real madrid 78 points Barcelona 72 points from 30 games. Then 48 and 47 points then 45 then to 43 points and 7th is 42 points. Amazing that even this season the gap in la liga is bigger from 1st to 7th but only just.
I am amazed that the gap in la liga is bigger but real madrid and barca have been outstanding like man utd and man city have in the leagues.
Moral of the story is that la liga may be decided normally by two teams but so has the epl in man utd and chelsea but this season has shown if the top teams put there minds to it the points total can be massive.

Lets hope man utd can beat chelsea's points total in supposed transistion
I will throw some stats in here for you that are incredible like de gea and our monday night football record:
https://twitter.com/#!/OptaJoe
736 - Manchester United have gone 736 minutes without conceding a Premier League goal on a Monday. Unbreachable.
1 - Of 'keepers with 10+ PL apps this season, David De Gea has the best saves-to-shots rate (79%), Paul Robinson the worst (55%). Contrast.
91% - Manchester United's pass completion so far tonight is the best by any team playing away from home in the PL this season. Patient.
12 - Antonio Valencia now has 12 Premier League assists this season, the joint-most along with Man City's David Silva. Lynchpin.
37 - There were 37 passes in the move for Ashley Young's goal tonight, the longest sequence of any PL goal this season. Aesthetic.
31 - Man Utd have taken 31 points from the 11 Premier League games Paul Scholes has featured in this season. Catalyst.
Top 2 in la liga vs the 2 others in top 7

A few weeks ago 4th-17th in la liga was separated by about 5points,dnt know what the situation is now

United Kaz
Difference between 3rd place to 17th is 16 points.
This year has been a strange La Liga season but fun. The "bigger teams" like Sevilla, Villarreal and Atleti under-performing and then you have the "smaller" teams that are doing a fantastic job like Levante, Osasuna and Malaga (tehehe). Strange season this year in "la otra Liga".

Next year we will probably replace scholes and giggs. Amazing that scholes came in the season when we needed him the most.

Amazing is probably not the best word, distinctly average.

Another thing is a month ago man utd looked like having to win all there games just to win the title. Now it looks like the way things are going a draw at eastlands/etihad stadium will clinch the title there if arsenal do us a favour and win our games till then.
City may have beaten us 6-1 but theres nothing better then winning the title in the back yard of your noisy neighbours.

Another stat for you most of the time the team wins the Community shield wins the league in recent seasons.
Back on topic I reckon if lets say there was 2 leagues like the top 10 of epl vs top 10 of this seasons la liga and bottom 10 of both I reckon epl would win as the epl has better defences in my opinion.

If every side played eachtoher in their respective positions from PL and La Liga, I don't think there is any doubt La LIga would win.
People talk about how bag La Liga is, but don't forget there are teams like Wolves, Villa, Wigan, Norwich, Bolton ect who really aren't all that.

It's the 'anyone can beat anyone' principle, which is only apparent when you follow a league closely. People who argue that could tell you who United drop points against, but have no idea of who takes points off Barça & Madrid.

I disagree norwich are great and wolves last year had a great record against the top teams. Bolton and stoke did well in the cups. wigan are better then they get credit for. Villa were a force before there best players left.
I have to say bilbao are one strange team. Its like they now where the goal is. We talk about arsenal in the past of there passing stule but bilbao are probably the best team apart from barca we have faced. Even pep guardiolo thought it was one of there toughest test.
