Luke Potter retires

http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10309~2719253,00.html

A real shame, during the Davey years, a friend of mine asked him which two players in the academy would make it as professionals and Simon Davey straight away said "Luke Potter and Jacob Butterfield".

Potter looked to be a real prospect and during the 09/10 season did an excellent job a left back for a considerable part of the campaign.

A real shame and we can only wish him the best for the future.

Only saw him play a few times, the first being in the 7-0 mauling we got at West Brom when he was only 17, and he looked very out of place. After that however, when he got an extended run in the side due to injuries (09/10 I think?) he looked pretty composed and a good prospect for the future. A real shame and I wish him good luck in whatever career he chooses.

Very sad...nobheads such as Tevez need to thank their lucky stars.
