Media pundits in Scotland making a lot about the Sky TV deal to keep rfrc new co in the SPL, on the grounds that other clubs would lose the £80Million TV deal.
One point being overlooked is that the proposed Sky deal will be taken off the table and torn up. A new deal would have to be negotiated on the grounds that the major game COULD be Celtic v new co, but that may not be the case. Also UEFA may well tell the governing bodies in Scotland that new co MUST start at the bottom and work their way up. Furthermore, the Sky deal will be considerably less than a deal including the OF.
No matter what happens, if rfc liquidate or hybrid liquidate(which I understand does not exist) the Sky deal will be at a much lower level, so the concept of the existing SPL clubs needing a new co is invalid.
THE TVDEAL - LIQUIDATION OR HYBRID

If Rangers had someone as good as big Peter they wouldn't be in this mess.

The logic I dont get here is why would Sky feel they need to re-negotiate?
NewCo Rangers still gives them their Old Firm games.
If anything, the only pressure Sky will apply is to have the points deduction kept to a minimal so that there is still a league to play for.
Doubt Uefa will step in and do anything. They have always kept fairly far away from national league matters. Plus they will understand that if they force Rangers down the leagues, it will start a domino effect.

Mitre
NewCo Rangers still gives them their Old Firm games.
-----------------------------------------------------
There will be no old firm - it will die along with rangers.
uefa will step in as they did when they forced the Swiss fa to deduct domestic league points from Sion.

Hoops,
Why do you think Rangers would die when its really easy to use the Leeds/Fiorentina/Charlton Athletic method to survive liquidation?

To be honest, if we need to go down to the 3rd division then that's fair enough.
Pretty sure the rest of Scottish football know that will be suicide though, so expect that we will be asked to rejoin the SPL for the good of the game.

All this rubbish about the other SPL clubs needing the OF. What happens to other clubs when they are relegated??? They find a new level to operate at. They will not go out of business if there is no rangers, but a new co in Div 3.
Clubs have been relegated for decades losing OF games and TV money and none have gone out of business, apart from Gretna, who went because of bad business practice.

Forever,
Most of them have clauses in the players contracts that reduce their wages if they go down.
If Rangers were to sink, the teams would be stuck paying top dollar without the revenue to cover it.
