Just wondering what players we think can make the jump up to the senior squad next year. I reckon that as part of getting rid of all the deadwood it also gives a great opportunity to promote some of our prospects rather than replacing them all with signings.
I would rather have a young player determined to prove himself as backup for some positions than some lazy, overpaid deadwood who can't be bothered.
So here are some suggestions, feel free to add more
Martinez as 3rd choice keeper rather than Mannone/Almunia.
Miyaichi as a backup winger rather than Benayoun and Arshavin.
Also I hear this Gnarby fella is meant to be awesome!
Afobe as backup for Van Persie and (hopefully) Podolski instead of Chamakh and Park.
Miquel being our 5th choice centre back instead of Squillaci.
Also would be good to see players such as Coquelin, Frimpong and Yennaris establish themselves fully.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated as I have probably missed some of our young talent out!!

Swap Afobe for Park/ Bendtner and that looks a very strong squad. Also should we even count Diaby he never plays. Also did you killl Djourou as he isn't in the squad but you also didn't sell him!!

Bartley won't make it. Hell definitely be sold
The only way dj is going is if someone makes a big bid as he has just signed a new contract.
Arshavin will go, Chamakh, squillachi, almunia, Lansbury, denilson will all go.

Diaby will be given another year, as will Park.
Djourou. I just don't know what to do with him so I left him out completely.
Everyoenes saying Bartley won't make it, same as Lansbury which is a shame. Really like them both and think they both at least deserve a shot.
I mean how many chances did Denilson etc have. If we sell Bartley + Lansbury this summer, it's a joke.

I know, I suppose the thing about having such a strong youth team is that while many of them are good players not all of them quite make it at a top level club, as you need to really shine to break into the Arsenal first team, e.g. Wilshere, Fabregas, The Ox. While others such as Lansbury and Bartley, previously Pennant and David Bentley never quite make it!
They go on to have successful careers elsewhere such as Seb Larsson, but not at Arsenal level.
This would be easier to take if they weren't being helped back by players as rubbish as Denilson, Chamakh etc.

I remember when Pennant got his hat-trick at Highbury, what a player we thought he was going to be.
And when Bentley had a stormer of a game, and the commentator said "Well, you can see why he's being touted as Dennis Bergkamps replacement."

Definitely Lansbury can't regularly get into the West Ham team, whereas Miyaichi and Wilshere stood out at Bolton. You have to wonder if Lansbury is ultimately good enough for Arsenal!

First of all Wenger will not bring in more than 2-3 outfield players + a goalkeeper if either Fabianski or Mannone
are offloaded.
Podolski is a done deal. Therefore there are maximum
two more outfield acquisitions.
Personally I think that he will buy either Vertonghen or
M'Vila. The first offers versatility, but will only come in
if he is offloading one of his four main centre backs.
M'Vila is a specialist defensive centre back. This would be my preference, because our midfield including Song are not particularly strong in this area.
Wenger promotes to the first team squad usually at least 2 new players each year even if they go out on loan.
If 2 goalkeepers are offloaded then I expect Martinez to be promoted to fourth string.
Miquel has been clearly groomed for promotion to first
team, but as fifth string I expect him to be loaned. Bartley has now been loaned out for two years. On that basis I expect him to be offloaded.
In midfield Coquelin and Frimpong are already part of
first team squad. I expect Frimpong to go out on loan.
Coquelin is a very good player, but would he stay if M'Vila arrives? Perhaps he might be part exchanged
in deal. Ozyakup might be promoted to first team squad, but would almost certainly be loaned out.
Lansbury will be definitely sold if he fails to secure a
place in 25. He is aged 21+ and Wenger will not keep
him.
Campbell and Afobe might be promoted, but I would imagine that they will be loaned out unless Park goes.
Despite all posturing Chamakh,Bendtner and Vela will
go for a variety of reasons not least that they have failed to deliver at Arsenal.
