Over these two games against Benfica, we'd be complaining about another Uefa conspiracy (which we probably will be given every reason to do so in the coming Barca games).
In the first game Benfica had a good shout against JT for handball turned down. As for today the pen we got is one you see refs turn down as many times as they give it so the coin landed heads for us again there.
Add to that the red card for the second yellow was harsh as second yellows go. A calm ref could have tried to keep 11 men on the pitch. (I know calm ref in the CL is very, very rare).
So just to give some credit to Benfica for a battling performance against lady luck over the tie. They showed they are a good side.
With that all being said it is likely our turn next. Barca will probably blow us away but if they do not Uefa will make sure they get their dream El Classico final.
Had the roles been reversed...

Not sure you can debate the pen, he took Cole out and it was a pen all day, not even close to harsh.
And as for the red, I don't know what he said to get his first booking but the fact is he was on a yellow then went in for a tackle with his studs up that was high, only had him self to blame and he knew the ref was a carder. No sympathy really.

Well don't have much sympathy for Benfica re referee decisions.
A clear penalty. Dissent is maybe harder to call without knowing exactly what was said but the tackle was a clear yellow card. Some refs might even have deemed that tackle worthy of a red on its own.
