I see that the Liverpool board is a bit dull over the last few weeks because of the results. So, thought this might be a good opportunity to discuss music.
What are your favourite genre(s) of music? And are there any genre(s) that you refuse to listen to?

TOOR Just about summed up my taste. Dylan would be the first name on the list though.

I often get fed up of listening to some of the others and come back to them a few months later but I never get fed up of Dylan.

As a genre I have a particular fondness for 60's garage bands such as The Sonics, but I listen to all sorts of music - a lot of dance music, indie, jazz and rock.
Joy Division
The Pixies
Orbital
Chemical Brothers
The Velvet Underground.
The Horrors.
80 b-line matchbox disaster
David Holmes.
Pavement.
The Cramps
The Stooges.
Air.
... There are some of the bands I will always go back to.
I hate modern R&B. I would rather listen to a flea ridden dog sh****ng of an empty crisp packet than be subjected to it. Also, given half the chance, I would reintroduce capital punishment for Simon Cowell for crimes against music.

I despise American Idol. It goes against every fiber of belief I have in music. The Simon Cowell Cookie Cutter Factory of creating “stars” really gets on my last nerve.

I'm sick of all these reality shows, sick of them. You cannot watch TV nowadays. It's either reality cooking, reality music, reality fat fighting, reality dancing, reality ice-skating or whatever. FFS bring back the good British sitcoms. Get some new ideas, find the next Only Fools and Horses, Bottom, Mr Bean, Fawlty Towers, Mean Behaving Badly and the like!
