Hi All,
I probably won't be on here tomorrow so thought I would let you all know today that the Blues supporters trust meeting is being held this Saturday at Transport house on Broad street at 11am.
All welcome and the trust will only work if we get people involved.
This is not a protest group it is about giving the fans a voice at the club, one that all of us can agree on.
This Saturday is the official launch and you can sign up on the day or on-line.
Just to point out I have no involvement in the trust at the moment I will be going to the meeting like the rest of you to see what can be done and in hope that all Blues fans are pulling in the same direction and to try and get some answers from the club in the long run.
Hope to see some of you there!

I'll not be there bcfc83. But I could do with an unbiased report on how it goes, mood, enthusiasm level, numbers and so forth, if you wouldn't mind.
This is a big opportunity for Blues Supporters to have an influence on their club and how it progresses from this point. I wonder how many will take that opportunity?

Cant see it making any difference if ten or 10,000 turn up, mind you,if 10,000 did turn up ,9,500 would be locked out, my advise is buy a season ticket , and cheer and even boo if you think we are carp, this year we have played some of the best stuff ever seen at St Andrews .kro.

Can't agree with that beesknees. Look at what is potentially happening at Portsmouth. Look at what Swansea have achieved. Many other positive influences by supporters trusts influencing the destinies of their clubs. We can positively take actions like this whilst we still support at the ground as we always have.
bxfc83, thanks for that, no rush anyway. Ta.

Hi ED,
The meeting went really well. There was a positive attitude by all the people that attended and some good ideas.
The membership numbers are up to about 50 after the meeting Saturday and some really good ideas were put forward on how to get more.
Me and my brother will be attending the next steering group meeting to help with the recruitment drive as we both have some experience on setting up new groups.
Hopefully we will see you at the AGM which will hopefully be in August when they have reached there target of 500 members so they can have a proper vote on who should be on the board.
Beesknees I am not sure you have got the idea behind the trust. Most if not all of the people at the meeting are already season ticket holders.
The reason for the trust is to have a better line of communication with the board and hopefully in time a support on to the board. This could become a necessity in a few years time with the government announcing plans that all football clubs should have a supporters trust and one supporter on the board.
The government are embarrassed by what is happening at Pompey and a number of other clubs, where the tax man is not getting paid and they are taking steps to ensure it can't happen in the future.
By setting up this trust now we are just giving ourselves a head start of two years!

Thanks very much bcfc83. How to get people on board is the big conundrum, how do you get people enthusiatic enough about their club and the changes that are open to them in making it more 'their club'?
5000 were invited to the first open meeting 50 turned up. That is the size of the task ahead. It seems the same 50 turned up again, so there has been no progress at all in the last few months.
The reason I stopped going down is that the people who were running the show, the original (Often Partisan message board folk) were not open to ideas on how to encourage membership. I wish you far more success than I managed to have. I ran a working group for a couple of months, the objective of that group was 'Recruitment'. Almost all of the ideas coming from a four man working party were ignored and lost to the cause.
I have loads of ideas on how to make this a success, but when you get blocked at every turn you run out of enthusiasm. Let's hope it can change but i cannot see me getting involved again in the near future.
There is one person who could change things significantly who is involved, but I doubt that he will be taken seriously either. Too much of an exclusive clique unfortunately.
I don't say these thing to be negative, but in the understanding that unless BCST face up to reality and deal with the real issues in a professional, progressive and inclusive manner, then this major opportunity will be lost to the club. At the moment it seems all is done to exclude people, rather than include everyone they can.
We all have different ways of approaching things, but I have to say I do not understand the position taken by this governing group. Great that they had the idea and started things off, but they really do need to hand over to people who are practised and skilled in bringing things to successful conclusions, and that needs to happen very quickly.
Again thanks for taking the time to respond to my request. Good man.

No problem ED.
As I said I was impressed on Saturday with what has been done so far and what the plans are for the future.
They now have over 70 members signed up since the meeting with people obviously spreading the word.
I encourage as many people as possible to sign up, if you haven't already singed up but would like to do so then you can join here:
