Ex-Sunderland boss Steve Bruce says his Newcastle roots made his time in charge at the Stadium of Light a nightmare. A boyhood Toon supporter, Bruce said: "I must admit that being a Geordie came back to haunt me. The hatred I suffered was unbelievable. It was brutal, it really was".
Yeah, but maybe you were just $#!t.

Reading the whole article, a lot of the hatred was directed towards his family by Newcastle fans at their Tyneside home, where he also stated that he was unable to even have a drink in his local pub.
As for the abuse he got from Sunderland fans: he didn't get any until after a year-long home record which only produced two victories, and even then he admitted that it was only from a very small minority.

Precisely, he didn't get abuse from Mackems because of his background; he got it because he wasn't very good at his job x

I'm a Geordie and he didn't get any from me, either, or anyone that I know that regularly attends The Stadium ( Geordies or Mackems )
He's just made himself look like an idiot in that interview

Sunderland are obsessed with Newcastle, that's why Newcastle are pushing for CL and Sunderland are loafing around mid table.

Nestea seems to be obsessed with Sunderland A.F.C. and that's why he posts such stupid comments
