Matt Mills

Just wondering if Reading fans actually miss Matt Mills.
Looking at the table I'd say not. The way Reading work as a "team" would suggest he looked better than he actually is.

Interested to get Reading fans opinions and can't help thinking about how he must be feeling himself right now.

That's not to say he's a bad defender and maybe Leicester need to throw him back in the team as we've got naff all left to play for.

Honestly mate, we don't need him back but I think we would love to have him back. He just doesn't suit Leicester at all and should have stayed with us in the first place.

He has gone to a club that isn't as good as Reading and he isn't even getting in at a team like you where he would have been starting every game he could at Reading.

So I would be very disappointed if I were him now knowing that he could just be a Premier League player rather than a Championship.

We all loved him at Reading he was a great Captain and shouldn't have moved.

Sometimes signings just don't work out and this looks like one of them.

Mills is still a good player, but for whatever reason, he's just not been at Leicester.

In terms of ability, I think he's a decent Championship defender but his attitude doesn't seem right. To throw a mardy after being, justifiably, dropped for one game is not acceptable for me. His ability doesn't outweigh his ego.

Pearson is trying to build a team ethos here and players with attitudes like Mills' are more than welcome to leave because I feel it'll benefit us.

i threw more than a mardy when i got dropped and i was replaced by a better player. How does he feel to be replaced by a journeyman centrehalf with the backside of a small country. No offence to small countries meant.

Maybe I am, Nev. I just wonder where the Matt Mills this Reading fan describes is hidden and who our imposter is.

(Incidentally, I remember a lot of Reading fans at the time who were delighted he'd gone, plus hoardes of home fans at Reading this season chanting "You could have had him for a tenner". But let's ignore that, because it's not so entertaining, hmm?)

Said on a few articles about Mills, when he is on form he is the best CB in the division, however it only came in fits and starts and never was consistant, not someone you could rely on. Mills for us would get a 9/10 performance then a 5/10 performance. His replacement in Gorkss you always get a 7 or 8 and the same with his partner Pearce. Mills would not start imo if he were to come back.

Mills has a bad mindset, stuck his middle finger up at the fans when one of his many crossfield balls went out of play (sure you've got used to those ) and was never seen the same by the fans after that and seems to of burnt his bridges at Leicester now and gets stupid yellows and red too often.

Overall as stated before Mills can be top centre half but didn't show regularly enough at Reading and while it was a shame to see him go, we got silly money for him and bought a more reliable replacement for a quarter of the price.
