City fans can point to whatever reasons they like, fact is, it's been a complete bottle job from them over the last six weeks.
----------------------
So that's why United won the title. Not because they have been superb, but because City have bottled it.
Forgive me then for not giving United the credit that I think they deserve.
==================================== United have been superb but still needed city to lose a couple, but the amount of points city have dropped is totally out of keeping with the rest of the season so yes, they HAVE bottled it.

Mancini has been let down big big time by Mario, the one man who has repeatedly put his faith into this seemingly lost cause.
But looking back you have to ask the question who is the bigger fool, Mario or Mancini.
It seems that his patience has finally been pushed to the limit now and he will see to let him go during the summer. The question is will Mancini be here himself next season. I personally hope and do think he will be manager next year.

So once again, United will win because City have bottled it.
Keep on devaluing your own club's achievement.

How is it devalueing it? We were 5 points behind with a vastly inferior goal difference, It was a known fact that for united to overhaul city not only would we need to go on an unbeaten run, but also city would need to drop points, those were facts, so what is incorrect in my post?

Semantics it might be, but I would regard “bottling it“ as losing from a near impregnable position. A five point lead is by no means that. As ripleys says, why not just celebrate your own team‘s success

city had barely dropped five points all season prior to this period so it was a stark change in form would'nt you say?............and i will enjoy my teams success when/if we win something.

A season is 38 games. The better teams over that period wins the league. If United win it (which looks likely), then they haven't done so because City bottled it, they've won it because over the duration of the season they were the better team.
If you want to say that City have bottled it, then that means that United winning the league wasn't purely of their own doing.
Just look at the number of points either team has after 32 games. Then compare that to the top two teams of previous seasons. The points both City and United have accrued at this stage is certainly no worse than what has been accrued by another teams at this stage. In my opinion, that means that both teams deserve credit.
Unless we subscribe to the fallacy that whenever it's a two horse race, the winner only wins because the other team bottles it, which devalues the achievement of the eventual winners.
It isn't necessary to belittle the other team in order to recognise that fact.

A statement which is factually incorrect by the way.

Look at our away record over the last three months - that will tell you all you need to know. This is by no means a sudden decline. Take United‘s form over the same period and there‘s the difference

spot on Jake, United could have blown it during the hard run of fixtures they had. when they dropped only two points out of Liverpool (h) and Arsenal, Chelsea, Norwich and Spurs away, I knew they would win it.
