Awful, awful performance from the boys today, one of the worst games I've been to at The Lane..
Thought I'd try and put some perspective on it though and look at the race for The Champions League.
Arsenal 61 (79)
Spurs 59 (74)
Newcastle 59 (74)
Chelsea 56 (74)
In brackets is the maximum points that each team could end up with.
Arsenal
Wolves (a)
Wigan (h)
Chelsea (h)
Stoke (a)
Norwich (h)
West Brom (a)
Spurs
QPR (a)
Blackburn (h)
Bolton (a)
Villa (a)
Fulham (h)
Newcastle
Stoke (h)
Wigan (a)
Chelsea (a)
Man City (h)
Everton (a)
Chelsea
Fulham (a)
Arsenal (a)
QPR (h)
Newcastle (h)
Liverpool (a)
Blackburn (h)
Looking at it, I don't think any of the 4 teams will be picking up maximum points in their remaining fixtures. With The Champions League and FA Cup semi I can really see Chelsea struggling, Fulham away tonight won't be easy and trips to Arsenal and Liverpool with Newcastle coming to The Bridge inbetween. Arsenal obviously favourites to finish 3rd now with Stoke away and Chelsea at home their only 2 difficult games. Newcastle's next 2 are winnable but they finish with Chelsea, City and Everton away so can't see them getting more than 4 points from those 3 games. We need to hold our nerve and really pull it together. 3 tricky away days at Villa, Bolton and QPR but the 2 remaining home games against Blackburn and Fulham we have to get nothing less than 6 points.
Again really disappointed with everything about today's performance and unless we sort it out before Wembley it's going to be another unsuccessful season.

Your 2-1 loss at home there just shows how you cannot predict where points will be won or lost. I think it will still go down to the wire

How much for Modric?

It's all about momentum and griding out results. Arsenal and newcastle have that momentum and we don't win games through sheer will and desire, we win by playing well. While our games look the easiest on paper, would I back us to win all 5? Probably not now, surely blown 3rd if arsenal win their next game so we'll probably be relying on arsenal beating chelsea and chelsea beating newcastle just to get 4th

Wasn't making predictions really just trying to give people some perspective and what's left this season and how it could pan out for any of the 4 teams

Wouldn't bother. It goes where it goes now.

Wasn't going to predict it either initially. Predicted it after we drew at anfield and has us finishing 3rd about 5 points clear. I got it wrong then and i've probably got it wrong now.
2 years ago when we lost the semi to portsmouth i thought it was over, but then gomes had a blinder as we beat arsenal and then beat chelsea 3 days later. Those were the games that gave us the massive surge in confidence to get 4th. With all due respect to the teams we have to face now but where will that surge come from?
