Ever since the words were uttered that Alex McLeish could potentially become our manager my blood began to boil. We never wanted, and will never accept AM at our club, no matter how successful or unsuccessful we are. When he stepped foot into Villa Park it never was a case of, give him time, he can win over the fans. No, it was nothing like that, even, if we were lucky enough to be in a position such as Newcastle United find themselves in now, we still would not want McLeish at our club. I don’t want McLeish to win anything at Villa; I will not be able to celebrate, if we were to win a trophy under a manager that once lifted a trophy with Birmingham City. The simple problem lies with the fact that this guy was an ex-Birmingham man, sorry, but I cannot accept that and never will. On top of that he is one of the worst managers to have ever managed in the PL, he relegated Birmingham twice, plays and encourages the worst possible football and has no man management skills. So, what, if he was successful with Rangers, when MON was in charge of Celtic he used to wipe the floor clean with McLeish.
I recall us playing Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the season at White Hart Lane, a game in which we could have caused a possible upset, expecting our manager to have a go and what does he do? Play 7 defenders! Sorry, but that is disrespectful. We’re Aston Villa Football Club, not Accrington Flippin’ Stanley! He has time and time again, continuously encouraged bland football, and when he does try, we get somewhere, i.e. 1-3 at Stamford Bridge.
The chairman is also beginning to walk on a thin line; he is the reason behind this appointment and the main reason as to why we are in huge debt. Despite selling key players, funding £20m of his money into the club, we still find ourselves in huge debt. But, I have a question in which needs to be answered...
The chairman decides against giving Steve McLaren, the opportunity to become Villa manager because we voiced our displeasure. That to me showed he cared for the fans and the football club. However, why when the fans show even more displeasure and anger towards, McLeish does he go ahead and appoint him? What does that show? A complete, and utter lack of care for this club and its fans. I’m a fan from the younger generation; we may be seen as fickle compared to the older fans, but I hope and pray every single Villa fan agrees with what I say. And, I hope other fans understand the situation we find ourselves in.
Not Wanted: Alex McLeish

no I am not...he was an Aberdeen hero so have a lot of time for him, however I do know he is not theman for the managers job, but as long as he is there you gotta support the club man..

by saying what you have said shows you are not

I'm pretty sure if he was not an Aberdeen hero your views would be different. No fan in the world wants to see his team fail, I'd love the good old days back... I just don't want it under AM. Simple.
Also, I don't think I'm the only one... How many people turn up for games now? Do you think it's a case of people are finding hard to pay for games or the simple fact that quite a lot of fans don't want McLeish in charge? Attendances dropped by 10%, yesterday's attendance, the lowest of the season so far I believe... Good times, right?!

prob not lol
whoever is manager I will back, all ther negativity must be playing a role in the players minds, so its not all to do with McCleish
Saying that, I dont think he is the man for the job, so maybe contradicting myself a little
McCleish will have my backing as long as he is there

there are a number of facts why attendances are down and not all are down the the Eck. the Quality i do like about him is he's a fighter and the man deserves another good season if were not relegated as we haven't seen what the man capabilities are.

I have been a season ticket holder for 20 years and a villa supporter for 46 years. Through thick and thin through the bad years as well as the good (and there were many believe it or not) i trundled down to VP to watch my beloved villa...but not any more .
If you read some of my previous posts you will see that my season ticket was binned a few weeks ago .
this without any shadow of doubt is the worst villa side and the worst management I have ever seen at VP.....and that includes the relegation years.....
Now anyone who says we should get behind Mcleish because he's part of the team.... because he's one of ours....well what a load of sh*te.
What if he gets us relegated......he's quite used to doing that remember....just ask the blues....will he still be one of ours ,...will you still stick with him ..because he's part of the team....no you wont ..not if you have any sense at all.
So now lets all be as one and tell RL in no uncertain terms that we don't want or will not stand another season (wether in premier or championship ) with this jock nomark .
season tickets should not be purchased or renewed until he's gone ...mind you after yesterdays showing there wont be any supporters left to go .
please ..please ..please...Randy see fit man and let him go for everybody's sake

If Only...
Agree 100% mate. I put it as this, if any other manager, i.e. Hughes, even McLaren, Jol etc... Were in charge of us, in their first season, in this situation I'd be backing them. But, I will never back McLeish, even, if we end up achieveing what NUFC have done this season I still would not back the wasteman. He's a complete and utter tool, who needs to be sacked at the end of the season. RL, better watch out because, if this continues the fans will turn on him...
Forget about, McLeish's managment skills, tactics, style of play etc... It's the simple fact that he managed the scccum from Small Heath that bothers me and will forever bother me.

I totall agree with 'if only'
I have been watching Villa for well over 30 years and have never been as dispirited as I am with Villas current mess.
I don't care that AM manged Blues, all I care about is having the right man for the job.
What irks me is that I am no football expert, i dont work in the game, and havent played the game for years. My only knowledge is what I have watched over the years, yet that knowledge told me many months ago that AM was not a quality manager. Why is RL unable to see this? - his job is to run a football club, yet everyday punters are united in their opinion that AM is not compatable with our club..
If you want to get behind the manager then thats fine, and I hope Im proved wrong, but I can see no good from him remaining at VP- I would rather have KMac

Could be that McLeish bowled Randy over with his enthusiasm. I think Randy assumed that once the results started rolling in fans would back McLeish. I reckon he was right. The bottom line is that most fans would forget McLeish's blues background if he got Villa playing the way they ought getting the results they ought.
The thing that matters is that McLeish has turned out to be what a lot of peope expected, absolutely awful. Villa may survive this season just, but faces disaster if he stays.
